We all face various problems in our lives, and we all have own ways to deal with the problems. Whenever I face any serious problem, I preferred to talk to an older person about it as they have more experience. There are other reasons behind this and I am going to describe this in my essay.

Firstly, most of the problems differ from person to person and our approaches differ based on the strength, weaknesses, and other characteristics of the person. But what appears to be a crisis to us may not be a crisis to our elder maybe because they may have gone through the same thing previously in their lives. Not just that, but they are aware of the consequences of the actions they had taken at that time as well. On a personal note, as a university fresher, I was much scared about my assignments. I was not able to decide whether to ask for an extension or submit a wrongly done assignment. At that time, a sophomore of my department explained to the professors everything, which convinced them to provide extension politely. He also explained to me that professors are understanding with these requests.

Secondly, vocalizing a problem helps us to put everything in clear perspectives. People after listening to our problems provide us a solution. Asking the same to random people may engage people who actually do not have any advice for that. For example, speaking to my father helped me a lot while deciding the specialization during my higher studies. He explained to me the pros and cons along with providing the suggestions and it was so satisfying to have words. Before doing the same, I was very confused and I was like in complete darkness. So, talking to elders is always a relief to us and it is one of the best ways to get rid of my problem.

To conclude, I must say that for me the best way to solve a problem is to consult it with our elders because they have the best solutions to our problems. Also, their experience and consequences happen to be very reliable – for which, I feel very comfortable in it.
