It is important to improve our skills and knowledge as much as possible. Some people prefer to learn from individuals who have more experience than they do – like teachers and supervisors – instead of learning from peers, like their colleagues and classmates. Do you think this is a good idea? Why or why not?

Sample answer:

It is an undeniable fact for all that we all need to improve our skills to ensure a better lifestyle and the way of improving our skills is something learn-worthy. I feel that people who are above us, like teachers and bosses can help us to learn in the best way for two reasons, which is explained in the following essay.

Firstly, these people have a broader real-world experience and that can provide us complete and comprehensive lessons. This is essential for improving our own skills and without proper teaching our learning will all went in a vein. Young ones compared to the older have so many bright ideas and future plans – but these are mostly hypothetical or in simpler words, these ideas are assumption-based not the hard facts. I too experienced this difference while I was pursuing my graduation. I wanted to start a software development firm with exceptionally detailed planning. I was very confident that my firm would bring a huge amount of profit and success. At that time, just for a second opinion, I consulted with my professor, and what he said, opened my eyes. I realized that my plan had major flaws missing key points. After his advice, I made a realistic plan for my form and it attends a good amount of success.

Secondly, people above us are mostly trained, and from their experience, they can offer more effective and accurate instruction to us. A young person, on the other side, may be a master in a particular field but he may lack experience on how to instruct the same to beginners. For example, a few years back, I shared an introductory physics class with one of my close friends. He excelled in physics, so I took his opinion for granted. But, once I struggled in the class, he recommended me a tutor for proper guidance. Later, I visited the professor for further assistance. All these together helped me to learn the lesson and score well.

To conclude, I believe that learning is one of the most important processes of our life, and while learning we need to take guidance from the people above us like educators as they have real-world experience which allows them to offer accurate solutions.
