The justification for why prehistoric creatures were so large in their size and shape is an enigma for all of us. Many theories and hypotheses tried to explain the gigantic size and shape of prehistoric animals but none of these theories and speculation is empirical and factual. Many theories profess that the environmental factors at that primitive time were the main reason for the humungous size and shape of prehistoric animals. These theories claim that due to the abundance of oxygen the prehistoric animals like dinosaurs, mastodons grew enormous in their shape and size but on the other hand, these theories are contradicted and challenged by lecturers and theorists as they believe that the atmosphere and the environment of the premature earth were full of lethal gases which made it difficult for the animals to survive and breathe.

Secondly, many theories even claimed that the prehistoric animals were gargantuan in their shape and size as they consume huge amounts of nutrients from plants and trees, but these notions are contradicted by another theory which claims that though the early earth possessed the riches of plant life but the plant life was low in nutrients. Another theory that is illustrated as an explanation for the enormous size of the creature is the theory of warm climate. This theory states that the climate of the early earth was warm and because of the warm climate the animals directed their energy in growing their bodies rather than keeping their body warm. These theories are not based on any factual evidence or any observation, these theories just state the possibilities of the events that happened in the early earth. The contemporary fossil studies have aroused an enigma regarding these theories. The fossil study has shown that creatures of various sizes existed in primitive times varying from small animals to large dinosaurs like supersaurus.

Enormous and massive animals were not only present in prehistoric times they are even present in contemporary times which are as large as supersaurus and weigh three times larger than the dinosaurs. Taking the example of a blue whale which is considered the largest mammal in contemporary times and is larger and heavier than many dinosaurs of the early earth. Hence there is no perfect theory that can explain why the prehistoric animals were so large and gargantuan in their shape and size.
