Data Analysis and Sufficiency section of MAT (Management Aptitude Test) will test the aspirant’s ability to analyze the situations and decision-making abilities. For the September session of MAT, it is important for candidates to prepare well, therefore, tips to prepare for Data Analysis and Sufficiency section have been shared below. 

  • MAT 2019 December is scheduled for December 8, 2019 in offline mode, while the online exam will be conducted on December 14, 2019. 
  • Ideally, out of the total 2 hours allotted for the exam, an aspirant must dedicate approximately 35 minutes to this section.
  • Data Analysis and Sufficiency questions are based on bar graphs, pie charts, caselettes, data comparison, etc. 

MAT comprises 200 questions that candidates need to solve in 2 hours. MAT Syllabus is divided into 5 different sections namely, Language Comprehension, Mathematics, Data Analysis and Sufficiency, Intelligence and Critical Reasoning and Indian & Global Environment. The selection of the candidates is based on the marks secured by them in MAT 2019.

MAT 2019 Data Analysis and Sufficiency Syllabus

Data Analysis and Sufficiency carry a total number of 40 questions in the MAT Exam. It carries 40 marks out of 200 marks. It is important to know about MAT exam pattern before appearing for the exam. For every correct answer, the candidate will be awarded 1 mark and for every wrong answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted.

How to crack Data Analysis and Sufficiency Section in MAT 2019?

Before appearing for MAT, candidates must prepare and revise this section carefully. Data analysis and sufficiency questions can be solved by following useful tricks. Questions in this section are long and calculation based.

This section in MAT helps to test student’s logical or reasoning skills. This test also checks the decision-making ability of candidates. Mostly question asked are in the form of tables, graphs, and charts. Candidates can increase their speed by trying various mathematical techniques such as shortcuts, Vedic maths etc. So, candidates should solve questions of this section as much as they can.

The following are the tips to crack Data Analysis and Sufficiency questions

  • Read all the questions very carefully before attempting the questions in the paper of their choice.
  • Candidates are advised not to assume any information. They must always use the facts and figures given in the questions.

MAT 2019 is divided into five different sections namely, Language Comprehension, Mathematics, Data Analysis and Sufficiency, Intelligence and Critical Reasoning and Indian and Global Environment. MAT May 2019 was of moderate to tough level of difficulty.
