About MAT 2019

The conducting body—All India Management Association has not announced any change in the paper pattern.

MAT is an objective type test intended and developed to determine the aptitude of the applicants to undergo Post Graduate Program in Management. MAT is conducted every year and there is no major change is expected in the December session. The number of sections and questions is the same every year. This year too, it will be the same. The level of difficulty may alter and we should be prepared for that. Let’s have a quick look at what we can expect from MAT 2019:

  • MAT 2019 will be conducted in both offline (pen and paper-based) and computer-based online mode. Check MAT Exam Pattern
  • As per our prediction, Data Analysis and Sufficiency section can be a little tricky and time-consuming. However, if sufficient time is dedicated to this section, it can be attempted easily.
  • While preparing for Data Analysis and Sufficiency section, candidates are advised to practice questions involving computation and perceptions, the focus must be lent on data interpretation questions.
  • From what we have observed in previous sessions of MAT Exam, Intelligence and Critical Reasoning will not pose a difficulty for candidates. Although the section might seem lengthy, it will be easy to attempt.
  • You can practice mainly from these topics for a good score in Intelligence and Critical Reasoning section- Analogies, Directions, Series, blood relations, statements, etc.
  • Language Comprehension section is easy or moderately difficult most of the time with questions from topics such as Jumbled Sentences, Fill in the blanks, Odd one out, Synonyms and Antonyms and Vocabulary.
  • Mathematical Skills section has off lately gained a little more weightage in MAT exam. Arithmetic has been of higher difficulty now.
  • Apart from this, a decent amount of practice must be done for these topics- percentages, ratio and proportions, profit and loss. Check MAT Syllabus
  • The last section, although it does not count in the preparation of merit list, is however important from the view of qualification.
  • MAT exam analysis of Indian & Global Environment section discloses that a few of the problems in the GK section in MAT exam also turn to be a little trickier and time-consuming.
