New Delhi: Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University, Agra Academic Council on Thursday conducted a meeting in which 135 new vocational courses were approved under NEP 2020.
The university’s council also approved the ordinance issued for the implementation of NEP 2020 in UG courses such as B.A., B.Sc. and B.Com and decided to send the proposal to the Uttar Pradesh Governor for sanction.
Moreover, the proposal to amend the titles of some courses, as presented by the VC was also approved during the meeting.
The meeting was chaired by the officiating Vice-Chancellor Professor Alok Kumar Rai

While discussing about the implementation in the aforementioned courses and the approval of 135 new vocational courses, Professor Pradeep Shridhar, the DBRAU spokesperson also stated that,
“It was also decided that now onwards decisions of the meetings of the Academic Council will be sent to all the members by mail and in case any objection is not made by any member within three days, then those decisions will be deemed to be accepted.”
Furthermore, on the representation made through email, Vandana Nagpal, the Assistant Director at ICAI had requested to consider the CA Degree as an equivalent to M.Com for the purpose of research work in the future.
The proposal was accepted as one of the policy decisions and regarding this, the University Grants Commission (UGC) issued notification was adopted by the Academic Council.
On the other hand, AICTE has also announced its plan to introduce a model curriculum in line with the National Education Policy, NEP 2020.
