New Delhi: CUK is now accepting applications for PhD admission in 2022. The application form must be submitted by March 31, 2022. Interested candidates must have a master's degree and be in possession of a JRF or comparable fellowship, as well as hold a NET.
Candidates applying for the PhD programme need to appear in the entrance examination, which is followed by a personal interview round.
The Central University of Kerala admits students to PhD programmes twice a year, depending on seat availability. Candidates can enrol in the PhD programme in their appropriate field of speciality either full-time or part-time.

CUK PhD Admission 2022: How to Apply?
Candidates interested in applying for the PhD programme at CUK need to check the below steps to know the admission process-
- Candidates should download the application form from the university's website.
- Completed applications must be submitted along with Demand Draft for Rs 1000 (Rs 500 for SC/ST/PWS). DDs should be made payable to the "Registrar, Central University of Kerala" and mailed to Periye/Kasaragod.
- Completed applications, along with the DD, must be received by the concerned HOD by March 31, 2022.
- Candidates who intend to do research at a university RRC must submit an application to the Head of the University Department to which the Centre is linked via the Head of the RRC, together with his recommendation and facility certificate.
CUK PhD Admission 2022: Eligibility Criteria
Before taking admission at CUK for PhD programmes candidates must check the eligibility criteria that are mentioned below:
- Candidates with JRF or equivalent fellowships funded by government agencies, as well as those with NET, are all eligible to apply.
- Candidates seeking admission to the Doctoral Programme must hold a Master's degree or a professional degree certified equivalent to the Master's degree by the corresponding statutory regulating authority.
- At least 55% aggregate marks or a grade of 'B' on the UGC 7-point scale is required.
- Applicants belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/differently-abled and other categories of candidates may be permitted a 5% mark relaxation, from 55% to 50%, or an equivalent grade relaxation, as determined by the UGC from time to time.
- Candidates belonging to the SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layers)/Differently Abled group will be permitted a 5% mark reduction (from 50% to 45%) in the University's admission test if one is held.
CUK PhD Admission 2022: Selection Process
Candidates are selected for the PhD programme based on the below requirements-
- All qualifying applicants with JRF or equivalent fellowships/NET will be required to present and discuss their research interests at an interview before the Departmental Research Committee (DRC) or a sub-committee formed by it.
- DRC shall have the authority to select candidates from among the eligible supervisors based on the number of vacancies, the area of research proposed by the candidates, the specialisations of the supervisors, and the reservation rules prescribed by the UGC (Minimum Standards and Rules Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degrees) regulations, 2016 and the rules of the Government of India in force in this regard from time to time.
