BML Munjal University Hosts First e-convocation Ceremony on September 19

BML Munjal University had its convocation ceremony online for the first time on September 19, 2020, from 11 am to 1pmwhich included over 540 students being awarded degrees.

BML Munjal University on Saturday conducted its first-ever virtual convocation ceremony on Zoom to praise and celebrate the completion of graduation. Various students from BMU's School of Management, School of Engineering & Technology, and School of Economics & Commerce from the Gurugram campuses were garnered with degrees in programs like B Tech, B Com, BBA & MBA.

This was also the first time when such a huge number of students got degrees in BMU in a single convocation. The convocation ceremony was dignified by the chief guest Sandeep Patel, Managing Director, IBM India South Asia.

The function was carried on virtually with faculty members, chief guests, and students eagerly waiting for the degree awarding ceremony. Sunil Kant Munjal, Chancellor BML Munjal University & Chairman, Hero Enterprise started the ceremony by delivering a light welcome note followed by the achievements of the university in the previous which were highlighted by Vice-Chancellor, Dr (Prof) Manoj K Arora.

The guest of honour proceeded by addressing the convocation speech following which he was felicitated with the "Excellence in Digital Transformation & Management" title. Gradually, the graduates were awarded degrees. The president of BMU appraised all the students and congratulated them for their efforts even in these hard times.

Parents of many students also witnessed the e-convocation. The chief guest in his speech mentioned that such virtual ceremonies could be a vital step in the past but due to the COVID outbreak, this year it is forced to be conducted online.

Chief Guest Sandeep Patel, Managing Director, IBM India South Asia stated that offline meetings are always effective but technology has been a crucial tool to prosper. Technology is changing and everyone has to adapt to the trends and fashion of the environment. It is the era of digitalization and we must move with it.

“I would like to share five principles of my personal & professional life with the young minds on this very celebration and those are 'Change is the only constant', learn the the 'Art of collaboration', 'Never let a crisis go to waste', 'Pursuit for excellence', 'Embrace technology,’ he added.”

Moreover, he also acknowledged the efforts of leaders and teachers in imparting the greatest of lessons and carrying on the lectures so smoothly and in an interactive manner. He showed optimism and said that these students will prosper in their field and contribute to a better future.

Dr. Brijmohan Lall Munjal Medal and Academic Excellence Medal were awarded to the rank holders for their excellent performance. Even in the less profitable scenario, students got placed in various top class companies like Google, Tata Consultancy Services, Grant Thornton, Hero MotoCorp, etc.
