In a review meeting of Bengaluru Central University, the Deputy Chief Minister who is also incharge of Higher Education Department suggested to upgrade the University into a World class campus.
Karnataka DCM, CN Ashwath Narayan said that the Bengaluru Central University campus will be developed at a cost of INR 150 crore.
As per reports, the work will take place in a set manner. In the first phase, INR 100 crore will be set aside for construction of Educational buildings and restoration of historical buildings. While in the second phase INR 50 crore will be released for construction of sports facilities.
DCM also said that the Educational and sports complexes will be constructed in the 31 acre land available with the University. A separate sports cell will be set up, where multi game facilities will be provided to the students.
Adding to this, the University is also planning to introduce new courses besides integrated UG and PG courses. Right now there are 800 students with the institute. The plan is to create a facility where 50,000 students can learn.
The campus would also have green cover where students can sit in the midst of nature and learn. The authorities are also planning to setup 125kv Solar Plant and rain water harvesting facility to store 4-5 lakh litres of water.
