Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham University is known to conduct its own entrance exam for admissions to engineering courses. Known as Amrita Engineering Entrance Examination (AEEE) which is held for the candidates who are interested in opting for B.Tech. courses..
Amrita Engineering Entrance Examination (AEEE) is generally held in the month of April. However, due to rapidly rising COVID cases in India, it has already been delayed multiple times but now, looking at the long duration of the pandemic, it seems to be cancelled once for all.
In an email sent recently, the Amrita University has been already getting an opinion of the candidates on this very matter. The message conveyed by the university reads as, “There has been quite a lot of speculation going on about Amrita Entrance Examinations & its conduct. In the survey form, the University has even asked the candidates about their preferred mode of admission on the basis of grade 12 score, mainly in PCM for the purpose of ranking.
The Amrita University is already taking JEE Main 2020 as the basis for the admission of the aspirants. However, in any case, the examination is stalled then there is a higher probability that all the seats will be filled on the basis of grade 12 score.
However, the other institutions like VIT and SRM have already cancelled their entrance exams which were meant to be conducted in July-end. The Universities are now taking admission on the basis of grade 12 and JEE Mains scores.
It has been informed by the university that admission procedures will be announced as soon as possible so the candidates are requested to update 12th scores soon. The exam is conducted by both CBT and PBT modes as well.
CBT is conducted at the National Level and PBT is only held in the state of Tamil Nadu.
Amrita University also has its campuses located in the states like Coimbatore, Amritapuri, Bengaluru, Kochi, Mysuru, Chennai etc. Generally, these states also take admission on the basis of AEEE score. However, 30% of the seats are meant for the admission on the basis of JEE Mains score.
