Visa Process for International Students

International Applicants will require a Dutch visa and residence permit to stay in the Netherlands during the program. If the duration of the program is less than 90 days, applicants can study at the university using a tourist visa. A tourist visa can be obtained from the Dutch Embassy of your country. The following documents will be asked by the UM visa office:

  • Copy of the passport
  • Evidence of sufficient financial resources
  • A completed consent form for the Visa office to complete the visa procedure on the applicant’s behalf
  • A completed antecedent form to ensure a healthy background with no criminal offense.
  • If the UM office is satisfied with the documents, the visa process is started in 5 weeks. Applicants will be notified at each step
  • Once the procedure is complete, an email will be sent to the registered Id. Upon receiving it, applicants will have to make an appointment with the Dutch Embassy of the country.Upon arrival at Maastricht, Applicants can collect their resident permit from the UM office.
  • Although the entire process is free of cost, applicants might be required to pay a statuary fee of 170 Euro
