At the end of the course the candidate shall demonstrate:
- thorough knowledge in the field of psychiatry and adequate knowledge in the psychiatric sub-specialties.
- broad knowledge in the fields of psychopathology aspects of etiology, symptomatology, treatment and management.
- ability to take a detailed history, and in carrying out physical and mental state examinations.
- ability to conduct appropriate investigations.
- leadership skills and cooperate with other staff like the clinical psychologist, medical social worker, occupational therapist and others.
- good attitudes and a sense of responsibility while discussing with colleagues and while treating patients.
- good skill in handling discussions and in communicating with patients or their family members.
- capacity to continue acquiring current knowledge in psychiatry and in keeping abreast of latest?developments in the field of medicine in general.
- ability to undertake research activities in psychiatry.
- ability to function as a psychiatrist who is efficient in raising the levels of expertise,
- practice and mental health standard in the society.
