UPCET 2023: Registration, UPTAC Counselling, Seat Allotment, Cut off, Admissions
UPCET (formerly known as UPSEE) was a state-level entrance exam conducted by AKTU for admission to various UG and PG courses offered in the field of Engineering, CSIT, Management, Pharmacy, etc. However, UPCET 2023 has been replaced by other national level exams such as JEE Main, NATA and CUET for admission into colleges affiliated with AKTU, MMMUT, and other state universities of Uttar Pradesh. Candidates with valid JEE Main/ CUET/ CUET PG scores are eligible to participate in UPCET 2023 Counselling, now known as UPTAC 2023.
- UPCET 2023 Counselling or UPTAC Counselling for B.Tech and B.Arch candidates will start after the completion of the various entrance tests. The authority will release the seat vacancy for UPTAC 2023 Counselling tentatively in August 2023. Interested candidates need to fill out the registration form when it is released. UPCET 2023 Eligibility Criteria
UPCET 2023 Eligibility Criteria includes various parameters such as educational qualification, age limit, domicile, nationality, etc.
- Age: There is no age limit for admissions based on UPCET 2023.
- Nationality: Indian nationals are eligible to apply for UPCET 2023 however, foreign nationals/ PIOs are also eligible.
- Domicile: It is not mandatory for candidates to have a domicile of Uttar Pradesh for admissions based on UPCET. However, candidates who do not have a domicile of Uttar Pradesh will only be eligible for admission to 20% of the seats.
- Educational Qualification: The minimum educational qualification required for admissions based on UPCET 2023 varies according to the program.
- B.Pharma/ B.Des/ BHMCT/ B.Voc/ BFA/ BFAD/ MCA (Integrated)/ MBA (Integrated): Candidates must have passed Class 12th or equivalent for admission.
- B.Tech/ B.Pharma (Lateral Entry): Candidates must have passed a valid Diploma or must be a B.Sc graduate.
- MCA/ MBA/ M.Sc./ M.Tech: Candidates must have passed a valid undergraduate degree from a recognized institute.

UPCET 2023 Application Form
Candidates will find the complete details with some key instructions regarding UPCET 2023 Application Form:
- The application form for UPCET 2023 was released on April 6, 2023 through CUET.
- The appearing candidates should confirm their eligibility before applying for the examination.
- The application form must be filled out very carefully. However, a form correction facility will be provided by the authority.
- The application form could be rejected if there are any wrong details. Candidates should fill in the exact details in UPCET 2023 application form as it appears in their 10th mark sheet.
- Candidates can submit the application form till May 22, 2023. No candidates will be allowed to submit after the date.
- Applicants are advised to keep the printout of the application form and fee receipt for future references.

UPCET 2023 Application Correction
The complete details about the application form correction facility are given below:
- After the final submission of UPCET 2023 application form, the application form correction facility will be available.
- Candidates will be able to rectify their mistakes within the correction period.
- The application form correction facility will be available only for the candidates who have registered for the examination.
- The mistakes should be corrected before the prescribed time scheduled as no correction will be allowed after that date.
- Candidates have to fill out their application form very carefully as the correction facility will be applicable in limited fields only.
UPCET 2023 Admit Card
The most important document of any examination is the admit card. No candidates will be allowed to enter the examination centre without showing the proper admit card. Candidates have to log in to the website to download the admit card.
How to download UPCET Admit Card?
Candidates can download their UPCET 2023 Admit Card by following the below-mentioned steps:
- Go to the UPCET 2023 official website.
- Click on UPCET 2023 admit card.
- A login window will appear.
- Type your UPCET 2023 application number and password to log in and download the admit card.
- A window showing the admit card will appear.
- Click on the download admit card link.
- After downloading the admit card take a printout of the same.
UPCET 2023 Exam Pattern

Exam Mode: UPCET 2023 will be conducted online mode.
Type of Questions: Candidates will have Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) in UPCET 2023 question paper.
Duration: Candidates will be given 3 hours 15 minutes for Slot I & 3 hours 45 minutes for slot II question paper.
Language: The question paper will be available in 13 languages including Bengali, English, Hindi, Assamese, Kannada, Marathi, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu, Odia, Malayalam, Punjabi, and Urdu.
Marking Scheme: 5 marks will be awarded for every correct answer and 1 mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer.

UPSEE 2023: B.Tech Admissions
Candidates seeking admission to the undergraduate B.Tech program through UPSEE 2023 will now be taking JEE Main 2023 for admission to the first semester of B.Tech / B.Arch. courses affiliated to AKTU, Lucknow. UPCET 2023 Results
UPCET 2023 Result has been released by NTA on the official website. Based on the candidate's performance, a separate merit list will be released by the authority for different courses. Candidates will be able to download UPCET 2023 scorecard and merit rank by submitting their roll number and date of birth. UPCET 2023 Answer Key
After the conclusion of the exam, NTA releases UPCET 2023 Answer Key that includes the correct answers for each question in the question paper. Candidates are able to use the answer key to calculate their expected scores in the exam before the announcement of the result. Using these scores, candidates can predict their UPCET rank and college. The answer keys are released on the official website at upcet.nta.nic.in.
Students must note that NTA first releases the preliminary UPCET answer key which is open for a challenge in case of objections raised by candidates. To raise objections, candidates need to write an email to NTA mentioning details such as Name, Roll Number, Paper Number, Paper Code, Grievance Question Number, the correct answer along with proof. However, the decision to accept the challenge depends on the exam expert committee. In case the challenge stated is accepted, a changed answer key is issued.

UPCET 2023 Counselling
Candidates who qualify UPCET 2023 are eligible for the counseling process for admission to respective courses. Based on the rank obtained by the candidate in the exam, a merit list will be prepared. Candidates scoring higher marks would be placed higher in the merit list whereas those scoring lower marks would hover at the bottom. Candidates who will feature in the merit list would be called for the document verification process. After the document verification candidates would be allowed to take part in the registration and choice locking process.

Ques. Will UPCET 2023 offer admission into B. Tech courses?
Ans. No. From the academic year 2023-24, UPSEE (now called UPCET) will no longer be used for admission into B. Tech courses are offered by colleges in Uttar Pradesh. Instead, students will be admitted based on JEE Main scores.
Ques. Why has UPCET been replaced by JEE Main for getting B.Tech admissions in UP?
Ans. Colleges that previously used UPCET to grant admission to B. Tech or B. Arch courses will now use JEE Main marks for that purpose. This ensures that students from the state no longer have to worry about two different exams, and thus can focus and be more competitive in JEE Main 2023. Many other states already offer admission into their universities through JEE Main, thus this move has been made to let the candidates from UP remain competitive at the national level by not having the burden of an extra exam.
