DU B.Ed Exam 2023: Exam Dates, Application Process, Eligibility, Pattern & Syllabus
DU B.Ed 2022 is expected to be conducted in the 4th week of June 2023. The application form for the same will be released in the 2nd week of May 2023, on the official website of NTA. Eligible candidates can register by generating an application number and creating an application online. As per DU B.Ed Exam Pattern 2023, the exam consists of 100 multiple-choice questions from Reasoning, General Knowledge, Language Proficiency, and Fundamentals of Teaching. Each question will carry 4 marks and 1 mark is deducted for each incorrect answer. Check DU BEd Practice Papers.
The qualifying marks for the general category will be 20 out of 100 marks while it will be 18 marks for reserved categories. Candidates who will qualify for the exam can participate inDU B.Ed Counselingprocess.
What is DU B.Ed Entrance Exam? DU B.Ed Entrance Exam or Delhi University Bachelor of Education Entrance Exam is a university-level entrance exam conducted by Delhi University for the BEd course. DU B.Ed 2023 Eligibility Criteria
Delhi University sets the eligibility criteria for the B.Ed program. The eligibility criteria vary according to the category. There is a relaxation of 5% marks in aggregate for the OBC category. Check Eligibility Criteria for DU B.Ed given below:

Eligibility for Choosing Teaching Subject
Candidates have to choose one subject within a subject category which they must have studied in the qualifying degree for at least 200 marks and obtained at least 50% marks in this subject. This subject category chosen by the candidate will be considered final for preparing the merit list and allocation of institutions. The subject chosen by the candidate from the subject category will be considered as the teaching subject and will remain to be the same throughout the B.Ed program.
Note: Request for change in subject category will not be entertained under any circumstances for allocation of institutions and seats.

DU B.Ed 2023 Application Form
The simple steps to apply for the exam are mentioned below:
- Visit the University of Delhi website and go to the postgraduate admission Portal and register yourself first. i.e.
- Go to the link of CIE i.e. cie.du.ac.in. Download the B.Ed prospectus and read all the instructions carefully.
- Click on the Apply Online link and fill in the required details in the application form such as personal, and educational details.
- Select the Subject Category, one teaching subject, and Centre of examination very carefully.
- Make the payment through online mode (Credit/ Debit card or net banking) or in offline mode through Challan at any SBI branch.
- Verify all the entered details in the application form and click on the submit button.
- No changes in the form are allowed once the payment has been made. After the payment is made, take a print-out of the form and bring it along on the day of admission at the allocated institution.

DU B.Ed Admit Card will be released online in the 2nd week of June 2023. Candidates can download DU B.Ed 2023 Admit Card by providing their Application ID and Password on the official website. No candidate is allowed to appear for the entrance test without admit card. Check the following steps to know how to download admit card.

DU B.Ed 2023 Syllabus
- Reasoning and General Awareness - This section contains questions that would test the candidate’s general knowledge and awareness of social, political, environmental, and economic issues. The section also contains questions to examine the perspectives and analysis of and responses to teaching and learning situations. The reasoning will assess the mathematical, logical, and verbal reasoning abilities. It will also assess candidates’ abilities to analyze and interpret data and find solutions to problematic situations.
- Subject Knowledge up to class 10th – This section will contain questions based on understanding and application of concepts in Science, Social Science, and Mathematics up to the secondary level.
- Language Proficiency – This section will assess reading comprehension in both English and Hindi.

DU B.Ed 2023 Results
DU B.Ed 2023 Result or merit list of qualified candidates will be displayed on the official list and candidates can check the rank they have secured.
- The qualifying marks for the general category will be 20 out of 100 marks while it will be 18 marks for reserved categories.

DU B.Ed 2023 Tie-Breaking Criteria
DU B.Ed Entrance Exam 2023 Tie-Breaking situations have certain rules that the university use to break ties.
- Each subject may have a different merit list on the basis of rank in the Entrance exam and the number of seats available.
- For instance, there may be a high rank in merit for Science/Social Science and may get a seat at high rank.
- Whereas, the seat may get filled with lower rank in merit for Home Science category as the seats are more in Home Science.
- In case there is a tie between any two candidates then the age criteria are taken under consideration and the candidate with higher age is given preference.
- There are various factors involved in the allotment of institutions such as merit in the entrance test, candidate’s category, subject category, availability of teaching subjects across institutions, and candidate’s preference of institutions, hence, candidates are not allowed to change their allotted institution.
- Similarly, no change of institution is allowed from one admission list to subsequent admission lists.
- Any mutual swapping of institutions amongst candidates is also not allowed.

DU B.Ed 2023 Answer Key: How to Challenge?
- Candidates can access the answer key by logging into the challenge portal using their application form number and date of birth.
- Candidates will find their response sheet and the provisional answer key for DU B.Ed 2023.
- Candidates must then click on ‘Add Challenge’ and fill in the challenge according to the information provided. Question ID and Nature of Challenge will be provided as drop-down options.
- Candidates must provide valid supporting documents when challenging DU B.Ed 2023 Answer Key.

DU B.Ed 2023 Counselling
DU B.Ed Entrance Exam 2023 Counselling requires the candidates shortlisted for the admission to be present at the stipulated date and time, at their allotted institutions, along with the below-listed documents:

- Print out of their filled-in Application/Registration Form
- Admit Card of Entrance Test d. Two latest passport size photographs
Original and two sets of photocopies of relevant documents as mentioned in the table below
I. High School/Secondary School Certificate for verification of date of birth. |
II. A detailed Statement of Marks of Part- I, II, and III at Graduation. In the case of post-graduation being the eligibility, a Statement of Marks at Master’s level. |
III. Provisional certificate or degree of the qualifying examination. |
IV. Relevant certificates/documents from a competent authority, establishing the candidate’s claim for reservation, for candidates belonging to reserved categories. |
V. Character Certificate from the institution last attended or from any gazetted officer (valid for six months from the date of issue). |
VI. In the case of candidates in service, a No Objection Certificate from the employer and a letter of sanction of study leave for a period of two years. |
- The candidate reports to the allocated institutions on the dates mentioned when his / her names appear in the merit list.
- The Admission Committee, in the light of the University guidelines, allows the candidate a limited time period after taking an undertaking from the candidate, to present the documents within the given time period.
B.Ed. students are not permitted to take up any employment (full-time or part-time). The employed candidates admitted to the B.Ed program will have to produce a valid sanction of leave from the employer.
DU B.Ed 2023 Reservation Criteria
DU B.Ed Entrance Exam 2023 Reservation Criteria are set by Delhi University for the B.Ed program.
- The seats reserved for SC/ ST category will be filled by those candidates only.
- In the case of the non-availability of the eligible candidates, the reserved seats may be interchanged between the SC and ST.
- If still, any seat remains unfilled, the same will be left vacant. The seats reserved for the OBC are filled with the OBC candidates only.
- Only if OBC candidates possessing the minimum eligibility marks are not available in the OBC category then the vacant OBC seats will be converted into General Category seats in accordance with the admission schedule notified by the University.
Wards or widows of the eligible armed forces personnel including Para Military forces have a reservation of 5% of the seats in each course. Candidates can go through the following table to check the reservation of seats.
