CUET 2023 Eligibility has been released by National Testing Agency. As per basic eligibility, for any of the UG courses offered, the candidate who passed the 10+2 or its equivalent exam from a recognized board. And for PG programs, candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in the respective discipline in which they want to get admission from a recognized university/institution. CUET 2023 is to be conducted in May 21 – 31, 2023.

Based on the official notification released by NTA, students appearing for Class 12^th will also be eligible to appear in CUET (UG)- 2023 if the University permits. Also, only Indian nationals can apply and appear for CUCET 2023. Moreover, candidates planning to appear for D/M.Phil Courses should have a master’s degree with any specialization. Candidates in the final year of graduation can apply. The eligibility criteria are different for both UG and PG courses. The eligibility criteria of CUET 2023 differ as per the programs and universities offering them. 

CUET 2023 Eligibility - Course Wise

CUET 2023 Eligibility criteria are different for different universities. So, candidates can check the university-wise eligibility criteria. Students must check their eligibility before filling the CUET 2023 Application Form. The candidate must fulfill all eligibility criteria given below.

CUET Eligibility for Undergraduate Courses

1. Minimum of 50% marks in class 12^th for General category candidates and 45% marks for SC/ST candidates.
2. Subjects required are Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics And/ OR Biology depending upon the course you are looking for.

CUET Eligibility for Post Graduate Course

1. Minimum marks are 55% for General category and 50% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD category students. In some places, there is a different cut off for the OBC candidate students. So please refer the course details.
2. In general, a candidate requires to clear the Bachelor’s in the same field Or any associated field of the course in which you wish to take a Masters. The field details are given for each course in the prospectus.

CUET Eligibility for PhD Programme

1. If you have cleared UGC-CSIR JRF, GATE, NBHM or qualified in any other National level Exams then you are exempted from appearing in the entrance test but have to register for CUET  2023.
2. Need to have a master’s degree in any stream with a minimum of 55% marks for general candidates, 50% marks for OBC candidate and 45% marks for SC/ST/PWD candidate.
3. Rest the minimum eligibility changes as per the course. As the main subjects required for each course are different depending upon the course you choose to enrol in.

Reservation Details for the exam: At all levels, the reservation will be given to the candidates depending upon norms defined by CUCET authority. Rules governed by Government of India for Reservation will be followed at all levels and for all the courses. Candidates seeking admission under CUCET reservation will be required to submit a mandate set of documents such as Caste Certificate, PwD Certificate, Income Certificate etc.

For PhD Programs in (English/Journalism/Hindi/Maths/Chemistry):

For the PhD program, Central University of Haryana governs some set of general eligibility that must be pursued for seeking admission to CUHAR. 

1. Must have a Master’s degree from a recognized university with a minimum of 55% marks in the field that you wish to do a PhD in.
2. The candidate must appear for the written test that the University will conduct which will be followed by an interview. The weightage of marks are 80% and 20% respectively.
3. Those candidates who have cleared UGC/CSIR/JRF/NET/SLET or are Teacher Fellowship holders or have passed M. Phil programme with course work recognized by the U.G.C. as per UGC Regulations (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil. /Ph.D. Degree, 2009) have relaxation that they do not need to give the written exam but will have to give the interview. In such cases, 100% marks weightage is given to the interview.

Central University of Jharkhand

Program Name: Integrated M.Tech Degree for 5 years (10 semesters)

Masters Programs: There are masters programs offered by the Central University of Jharkhand. The duration of the program is 2 years or 4 semesters.

M.A. in (Human Rights & conflicts /Tribal Law & Governance /Folkloristics/Vocal Music/Theater):

• There are 20 seats in each of the program referred above except Tribal & Governance Law which has 15 seats only.
• The candidate must have a Graduation degree in a field with a minimum of 55% marks for general category students and 50% marks for SC/ST students.
• For Vocal Music & Theater, the candidate will have to give a practical exam which has weightage of 5%. The candidate can have a degree in any field but in case you have a degree in the filed other than music then you must have a diploma /Prabhakar or equivalent certificate.

PhD Program Details: For PhD programs, the details for various fields lie in line but for the top programs are given below.

Central University of Karnataka

Undergraduate Integrated Programs: For admission to Integrated programs the educational qualification details are the same for all the streams of integrated programs. The integrated programs are offered in Power and Energy Engineering, Information and Communication Technology, integrated B.Sc & M.Sc.

• Students must have passed class 12^th examination with a minimum of 50% marks for General candidates and 45% for SC/ST/PWD / Kashmiri Migrants and must have studied physics, chemistry and Maths.
• 33% of seats are filled on the basis of JEE Main 2023 exam who will write the JEE Advanced Exam 2023.
• 33% of seats are filled on the basis of CUCET 2023 performance of the candidate.
• There are a total of 30 seats in each of the stream.

Integrated Postgraduate Programs: For admission to the integrated MA (English)/ MA (Economics)/ M.Sc (Psychology)/ M.Sc (Geology) following are general eligibility standards:

• Students must have passed class 12^th with 50% marks in any stream for general category students.
• Students of Kashmir(migrants)/SC/ST/PWD will get a 5% relaxation in the minimum marks of eligibility i.e. they are eligible at for 45% or they get 5% relaxation in CUCET 2023 percentage marks needed to qualify.
• There are 30 seats in each stream.

Post-graduate Programs: For admission to M.A. (Hindi)/ M.A. (English)/ M.A. (Economics)/ M.Sc (Psychology)/ M.Com/ M.SC (Mathematics)/ M.SC (Chemistry)/ M.Sc (Physics) there are following rules of eligibility:

• Bachelors degree from a recognised university in any stream and have secured at least 50% marks for general candidates or 45% for reserved category students.

• Students of Kashmir(migrants)/SC/ST/PWD will get a 5% relaxation in the minimum marks of eligibility i.e. they are eligible at 45% or they get 5% relaxation in CUCET 2023 percentage marks needed to qualify.
• There are 30 seats in each stream.

Ph.D. Programs: For admission to the Ph.D. program in Hindi/Kannada/Linguistics/Economics/Management /Psychology following are the general CUCET eligibility rules:

• M.Phil or Master’s degree in any stream from any university that is recognized with at least 55% marks for General candidates and 50% marks for SC/ST/Kashmiri Migrants.
• At least 50% marks in CUCET 2023 for General candidates and 45% marks for SC/ST/Kashmiri migrants.
• The interview has thrice the weightage of marks obtained as a sum-up of CUCET 2023 plus the marks in Bachelor’s degree.
• The 5% relaxation can be taken either in the percentage for Bachelor’s or in the CUCET by the reserved category candidates.
• Students who have qualified UGC/CSIR/DST/MHRD-JRF are exempted from the written test in that case the interview has 100 percentage weightage.
• In case students are not found suitable then the sets will remain vacant for the next year and not filled just for the sake of filling.

Central University of Kashmir

Undergraduate Integrated Programs: For admission to Integrated B.A. LLB/B.com LLB/ Integrated. BSc.-MSc. Physics (Mathematics and physics as main subject in 12th)/ Integrated B. Sc. – M. Sc. Zoology (Biology/Biochemistry/Biotechnology as main subject in 12^th)/ Integrated B. Sc. – M. Sc. Biotechnology (Biology/Biotechnology/Biochemistry/Mathematics as a main subject in 12^th)/ Integrated B. Sc. – M. Sc. Mathematics (Mathematics as main subject in class 12^th) there are following eligibility guidelines which are common.

• This is 5 years (10 semesters) course.
• The total intake is 30 seats in each stream except in Integrated B.A.LLB/B.Com LLB which has 50 seats.
• The students must have successfully cleared class 12^th from a recognized board /university with at least 50% marks or its equivalent. The minimum cut-off for SC/ST/PWD is 45%.

For admission to B.VOC(Retail and Logistics management/ Tourism Hospitality Management) following are the eligibility details:

• 50 seats in each of the course
• 3 years course
• The students must have successfully cleared class 12^th from a recognized board /university with at least 50% marks or its equivalent. The minimum cut off for SC/ST/PWD is 45%

Post Graduate Programs: For admission to M.A.English/M.A.Urdu/Masters in Travel & Tourism Management/Convergent Journalism /M.A. & M.Sc Mathematics following are the general details for eligibility 

• Duration of each course is of 2 years
• There are a total of 30 seats in each course
• Need to have successfully completed the bachelors in any stream from any recognized with at least 50% marks for General candidates and 45% marks for SC/ST/PWD candidates

PhD Programs:  For admission to the PhD programs following are the details. The university offers research programs in the following 3 disciplines only:

• There is a common rule for the MPhil/PhD program that the reserved category candidate will get a 5% relaxation either in the CUCET minimum cut off or 5% relaxation in the minimum percentage required and not in both.
• The students who have cleared UGC/CSIR (JRF) NET/ SET/GATE or any other State or Centre level test accredited by the UGC need to register for the CUCET but are exempted from appearing for the written test.
• All candidates who have been shortlisted have to appear for the interview in the PhD program.

Central University of Kerala

There is only one program named B.A.(International Relations) that are covered under CUCET 2023 Bachelors degree. Following are the eligibility details:

• There is a total of 40 seats in the course.
• The candidate must have obtained 50% minimum marks in class 12^th for General candidates and 45% for the reserved category from a recognised university or board.
• The candidate must not have completed 19 years of age as on July 01, 2023.

Post Graduate Program: For admission to the postgraduate programs M.A.(Economics/ English& comparative Literature/Linguistics & Language programs/Hindi & comparative literature /International Relations & Political Science /Malayalam/Public administration & Policy studies )or Masters in Social Welfare following are the common eligibility details:

• There are a total of 26 seats in each stream and 2 years course.
• It is necessary to have a bachelors degree in any stream from any recognised university with 50% marks or equivalent grade.
• 5% relaxation for SC/ST candidates.
• Age should not be 25 years completed as on July 01, 2023.

The relaxation is subjected to change depending upon the reservation rules of Government of India. There is reservation for Kashmiri migrants, E-Servicemen, State of Kerala/ST /PWD category.

PhD Programs: There is no PhD programme under CUCET 2023 in any stream in the state of Kerala.

Central University of Punjab

The central university of Punjab is offering only the Masters Degree programs under CUCET 2023 and there are no graduation or PhD programs offered by the university under CUCET 2023.

The general instructions for admission are:

1. The Master’s Program in any stream may get cancelled in case the students are less than minimum seats to be filled.
2. The relaxation and Reservation are as per Government norms.
3. The seats may increase or decrease without notice given to the students.

Central University of Rajasthan

The central university of Rajasthan offers only Master’s and PhD programs. There is an integrated master's program for the students who have passed the class 12^th exam. The eligibility details are minimum 50% marks in class 12^th board exam for General Students and 45% marks for SC/ST/PWD/OBC candidates. These are 5-year programs.

M.A. Programs for 2 years has common eligibility detail. The candidate just needs to clear a bachelor’s degree from any recognized university with minimum of 50% marks for General Candidate and 45% marks for reserved category students. The number of seats may vary. These are as follows for the program.

PhD programs have common eligibility criteria for the following streams except for the main subject of Masters. Master's degree requirement varies with the course. Otherwise, the same detail is that the candidate must have a Masters and Bachelors degree with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent. 45% marks for SC/ST/PWD/OBC category students to be eligible.

Central University of Tamil Nadu

The central university of Tamil Nadu has only B.Sc Textile program for undergraduates rest are integrated programs with Masters in it.

For B.sc Textile: the total number of seats is 40 and the eligibility is have obtained minimum of 60% marks (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and/Or Biology ) for General candidates, 50% marks for SC/ST/PWD category and 55% marks for OBC category. The age should be below 20 on July 01, 2023.

For Integrated programs: For admission to the integrated program the subject choice of class 12^th is important. This includes the following details which are common to all:

Minimum of 60% marks in class 12^th boards for general category, 55% for OBC category and 50% marks for SC/ST/PWD Category.

Post Graduate Program - The duration of the course is 2 years and the candidate need to have a Bachelor’s degree program with 55% marks for General category students,  50% for OBC candidates and 45% for SC/ST/OBC candidates. Apart from the graduation degree, the candidate must have age below 30 years before July 01, 2023. The main course subject in Bachelor’s degree will change with the program details.

Ph.D. Programs: For taking admission to Ph.D. program we have the following common eligibility details:

• If you have cleared UGC CSIR JRF, GATE, NBHM or qualified in any other National level Exams then you are exempted from appearing into the entrance test but have to register for CUCET 2023.
• Need to have Master’s degree in any stream with a minimum of 55% marks for general candidates, 50% marks for OBC candidate and 45% marks for SC/ST/PWD candidate.
