CBSE Class 10 Social Science Paper Analysis

The CBSE class 10 Social Science exam was easy and balanced. The paper was scoring and nothing was asked out of the syllabus. Though easy, but the paper was lengthy as per the students. There were 37 questions in the paper divided into 6 sections – A, B, C, D, E, and F.

  • Section A had 20 MCQs for 1 mark each.
  • Section B contained 4 very short answer type questions for 2 marks each.
  • Section C had 5 short answer type questions. Each question carried 3 marks.
  • Section D included 4 questions of long answer type. Each question was of 5 marks. 
  • Section E contained case-study based questions. There were 3 questions in this section.
  • Section F had one map-based question for 5 marks.

CBSE Class 10 Science Paper Analysis

CBSE conducted the class 10 Science exam on March 4, 2023. According to the students, the paper was of average difficulty level. Science question paper carried a total of 39 questions divided into 5 sections. Internal choices were provided to students in some questions. 

  • Section A – It contains 20 objective-type questions each carrying 1 mark. 
  • Section B – This section contains 6 very short answer-type questions for 2 marks each.
  • Section C – In this section, 7 short answer type questions each carrying 3 marks are included. 
  • Section D – It contains 3 long answer-type questions. Each question is of 5 marks. 
  • Section E – This section includes 3 case-based or source-based questions for 4 marks each. The questions also contain sub-parts. 

Students who have not prepared from the NCERT book found the paper tricky. The questions from the Chemistry part were a little difficult. MCQ questions were straight and easy.

CBSE Class 10 English Paper Analysis

The theory exam of English was held on February 27, 2023. Maximum marks for the English theory paper are 80. The question paper contains 3 sections:

  • Section A (Reading Skills) – This section carries 20 marks. The section contains 2 unseen passages carrying 10 marks each. 
  • Section B (Writing and Grammar) – This section contains questions on writing skills like letter writing, paragraph writing, notice, etc. Writing section also carries 20 marks.
  • Section C (Literature) – The total marks for this section are 40. It includes questions based on extracts, short answer type (3 marks) questions, and long answer type (6 marks questions). 

Overall, the paper was rated easy and lengthy by the students. The questions in the literature section were direct and simple. Reading section was a bit lengthy for students. For sets 2 and 3, grammar questions were easy but a little trickier in set 1.
