Urology is the branch of medical science which is concerned with the treatment of disorders of the male and female urinary tract systems such as bladder and continence problems, and also diseases related to the male reproductive system. Eligibility for MS in Urology

Interested candidates aspiring to pursue the course are required to meet the following minimum eligibility criteria:

  • MBBS or equivalent degree completed from a university recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI), with a minimum aggregate score of 55% for general and 45% for SC/ST candidates.
  • Permanent registration wit either MCI or any of the State medical councils after qualification of the MBBS examination.
  • Work experience of a minimum of 1 year, as most institutes prefer candidates with professional experience, before entering the managerial level.

MS in Urology: Admission Process

For admission to the course, eligible candidates are required to qualify a relevant entrance examination, followed by subsequent rounds of group discussion and personal interview, wherein candidate’s general aptitude for the course is assessed.

Admission to the course is made on the basis of either a State or national-level entrance examination, or a separate examination conducted by the concerned university itself. A merit list is subsequently released by the institute, whereby available seats are allotted to candidates, on the basis of academic performance.

Candidates appearing in the final year of MBBS examinations are also welcome to apply, but admission to such candidates is made provisionally, until the fulfilment of the minimum MBBS score criterion.
