BSc Cardiovascular Technology First Year Subjects 

  • Anatomy: After completion of the course, the students will have an understanding of the basics of Human Anatomy and knowledge of the anatomy of different systems.
  • Cardiac Physiology: This course is to educate the students on the basics of Human Physiology. Completion of the course will enable the students to gain a wide knowledge of the physiology of the cardiovascular system and get good exposure to the cardiac cycle, cardiac output and circulation.
  • Biochemistry: This will help to impart knowledge to the students on the principles of Biochemistry. Completion of the course will enable the students To know about the composition and biological properties of carbohydrate lipids and proteins and To understand the nutrition aspects of Biomolecules.

BSc Cardiovascular Technology Second Year

  • Basic of ECG - the students will learn about the basics of ECG and its use in the diagnosis of cardiac diseases. This includes topics like Cardiac arrhythmias Ventricular premature beats Supra-ventricular tachycardias Atrial flutter/fibrillation Ventricular Tachycardia/Ventricular fibrillation.
  • Echo & Holter Recording - This will train the student to perform noninvasive procedures like treadmill and Holter testing under the supervision of a cardiologist and assist the cardiologist in the cardiac catheterization laboratory supervision.
  • Biomaterials And Artificial Organs - This includes the study of the different types of Biomaterials, the study of artificial organs made using tissue materials and understanding the properties of Bio-compatible materials.

BSc Cardiovascular Technology Third-Year Subjects 

  • Cardiac Catheterization Basics: Students will learn about the basics in the cardiac catheterization laboratory. Students will be trained to assist the cardiologist in invasive or non-invasive cardiac laboratories, in performing routine cardiac investigations and interventional procedures.
  • Cardiac Catheterization: After completion of the course, the student will be in a position to assist the cardiologist in the invasive or non-invasive cardiac laboratory, in performing routine cardiac investigations and interventional procedures.
  • Hospital And Patient Relation Management: Students will be taught the concept of patient-centric management, the concept of quality, its tools, its relation and application to patient care, and knowledge of the importance of medical ethics and auditory procedures in hospitals.

BSc Cardiovascular Technology Entrance Syllabus

The Entrance exam for BSc cardiovascular technology is CUET. The Common University Entrance Test or CUET 2022 is a national-level entrance test introduced for admission into all UG programs.The top five subjects with the highest number of candidates are General Test, English, Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics.

Until now, JIPMER used to conduct entrance exams for BSc courses especially. These courses included anesthesia and other paramedical courses. 

However, recently JIPMER has announced that candidates will be granted admission to these courses through NEET only. Anyone who wants to pursue a JIPMER Anesthesia course will have to sit for NEET and secure the required cutoff. The counseling schedule and process will be conducted by JIPMER only. 

JIPMER B.Sc Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates must be Indian citizens or NRI. Foreign national students must take prior permission from the medical council of India.
  • The applying candidate should be 17 as of December 31, 2020.
  • 10+2 or equivalent exam from a recognized board with a minimum of 50% and above.
  • The minimum eligibility of class 12 for OBC/SC/ST is 40%. 
  • The candidate must have opted for Physics, Chemistry, biology, and English in 10+2.

Registration for NEET exams generally begins in the month of March.
