Policy for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) Scholarship
The students studying at MIT Arts, Commerce and Science College (MITACSC), have been fortunate in receiving excellent support from the Management to complete their education through this scholarship. This scholarship is basically for Economically Weaker Sections students. The needy, poor and meritorious students will receive support in the form of concession in fees. This scholarship is available for all the students subject to the fulfillment of eligibility criteria specified by the respective authorities. The students applying to this scholarship should produce an income certificate from the Executive Magistrate to the effect that he/she belongs to the Economically Backward category or its equivalent document.
Objective
- To provide financial help to the needy and meritorious students of the college.
Eligibility
- The scheme is applicable to all the students of the college.
- The applicant student should have passed the qualifying examination in the current year with the first attempt.
- The applicant student should have obtained a minimum 65% marks or equivalent grade in the current academic year.
- The applicant 's parent’s Total Gross Income as per latest Income Tax Return should be less than INR 2,00,000/- (Rupees Two Lakhs Only).
- The student should not be availing any other scholarship provided by any Government/Funding Agency (If the student is availing any other scholarship, he/ she will not be eligible to this scholarship).
Procedure
- The eligible students should fill the application form and submit it to the Head of the respective departments.
- Head of the departments will scrutinize and short list the students. They will forward the list of the short-listed students along with a recommendation letter to the Head of the Institute.
- The panel, chaired by the Head of the Institute will conduct the interview of the short-listed students. The panel will consist of heads of the various departments.
- The students selected by the panel will be recommended for the approval of the Executive Director and the appropriate concession will be given to them. It is recommended to give a minimum 10% concession in the fees paid by the student subject to the recommendation of the committee.
- It is recommended to select a minimum of 1 student from each year of the program and this will be applicable to all the undergraduate and postgraduate programs run in the college. However, the Head of the Institute can take the final decision considering the eligibility of the students.
Merit Scholarship Policy for First Year Students of All Programs
Objective:
To provide a guiding document to award merit scholarships for first year students of all programs.
Eligibility:
First year students of all Undergraduate & Post Graduate programs.
Merit Scholarship Policy:
- This scholarship provides 20% of college fees waiver for the first year students only, subject to fulfillment of below mentioned terms & conditions by the student, updated from time to time by the College in this regard.
- This scholarship will be awarded to the number of students in proportionate to sanctioned intake and not more than 05 % of the approved intake in the respective program.
- This scholarship shall be awarded to the eligible students after interview selection.
Terms & conditions to award Merit Scholarship:
- This scholarship is valid for the academic year 2021-2022.
- This scholarship will not be given in cash but will be adjusted in college fees.
- In case of cancellation of admission, the scholarship would stand ‘null & void’ and the student has to pay complete/full fees for that year; only then the student will be issued with Transfer Certificate/Migration Certificate/Transcript/refund etc. as applicable.
- To avail the scholarship, it would be mandatory for the student to ‘Apply’ for the scholarship by filling the scholarship application form.
- The application for scholarship shall be scrutinized as per the Scholarship Scrutiny procedure of the college, updated from time to time.
- If any seat of OMS student category remains vacant after the last date of admissions then those vacant seats will be allotted to MS students for this scholarship.
