Eligibility Criteria
All those candidates who have passed the 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one the following subjects: Chemistry / Biotechnology / Computer Science / Biology.OR
Those candidates who have passed their 10th or 10+2 examination with science stream and have passed diploma in any Engineering Trade from Punjab State Board of Technical Education, Chandigarh or Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology, Longowal (SLIET), or such examination from any other recognized State Board of Technical Education. OR
The candidates who have passed two years certificate course from Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology, Longowal (SLIET) shall be eligible.
Admission Guidelines
Admissions to all B.Tech (Regular) and B.Tech. (LEET) courses shall be made through Central Counseling being conducted by IKG PTU on behalf of Government of Punjab. The eligibility, procedure, reservations, fee to be charged and all other conditions notified by Government of Punjab for the session 2016-17 shall be applicable for admission to the courses at IKG PTU Main Campus and other campuses located 06 different locations for session 2016-17 onwards.
There shall be two rounds of centralized counselling by I.K.Gujral Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar. The counselling schedule shall be as notified by IKG PTU. Thereafter the direct admissions at the level of University / IKGPTU Campuses shall be made for vacant seats.
To fill the vacant seats, expeditiously, after 1st round of counselling in Main Campus and IKGPTU other Campuses, parallel registration of eligible candidates for admission may be allowed. All such candidates registered directly through online portal for admission to IKGPTU shall be entitled for admission only if seats remain vacant after 2nd round of Centralized Online Counseling.

Such registered candidates shall have no right of allotment of seats prior to completion of 2nd round of counselling (including reporting time).
After following above said procedure, if still the remains vacant in reserve category, the University will fill these from candidates belonging to general category in subsequent step at the end of counselling.
