Founded in 1916, Sir Parashurambhau College (SP College) is one of the most prestigious colleges in Pune, India. The college offers a variety of courses at the undergraduate, postgraduate as well as doctoral level.
A total of five courses are offered at the UG level, four courses are offered at the PG level and the Ph.D. degree is offered with three different specializations. The UG courses are offered for a duration of three years and the PG courses are offered for a duration of two years.
The application procedure for these courses start by the end of May month and admission to all the courses except B.B.A., B.Sc. Computer Science, M.Sc. Computer Science, M.C.A. and Ph.D. courses are based on the merit of the candidates in the qualifying examination.

Admission to the B.A. and B.Com courses are made on the basis of the merit of the candidates in the previous qualifying examination, i.e. the 10+2 level examination. For admission to the B.Sc. courses, candidates are shortlisted based on their merit as per the 10+2 examination results and are invited for the counselling rounds.
For B.B.A., the admissions are made on the basis of a common entrance test conducted by the University of Pune.

SP college offers M.A., M.Sc. and M.Com courses at the postgraduate level. All the postgraduate level courses are for a duration of two years.
The M.A. course is offered with six different specialization subjects, whereas, the M.Sc. course is offered with five different specialization subjects.
Admission to M.Sc. Computer Science and M.C.A. are based on the performance of the candidates in a separation entrance test conducted by the Department of Computer Science. Shortlisted candidates are invited for the counselling rounds.
Admission to all other postgraduate courses are based on the merit of the candidates in their relevant bachelor’s degree examination.

SP college, other than the UG and PG courses, also offers the Ph.D. degree in three different fields of research - Chemistry, Geography and Mathematics.
Admission to the Ph.D. courses are based on a written test conducted by the college and the shortlisted candidates are then invited for the interview rounds. Selection of candidates for the Ph.D. courses are based on their academic marks as well as on performance in the entrance test and interview.
