Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must have passed 10+2 examinations in science stream to apply for BS-MS course.
IISER Pune BS-MS Selection Criteria
Candidates can secure admission through 3 channels: Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY), JEE Advanced and State and Central Boards Channel (SCB).
KVPY Channel
Candidates with valid KVPY fellowship and qualifying the cut-off criteria for marks obtained in 10+2 examination are offered admission.
JEE Advanced Channel
- Candidates securing a rank within 10000 in JEE Advanced and qualifying the cut-off criteria for marks obtained in 10+2 examination are provided admission in the course.
- Additionally, candidates who have a minimum of 75% marks (65% for SC/ST/PWD) in 10+2 or equivalent exam are also considered for admission.
SCB Channel
- Admissions through SCB channel are done on the basis of merit in IISER Aptitude Test (IAT).
- The exam will be held on August 12, 2021 in 34 different states.
NOTE - 25% seats will be filled through KVPY and JEE Advanced channels and the remaining seats will be filled through SCB.

Key Points:
- IAT will be conducted in Computer-based mode for a duration of 180 minutes.
- The paper will have MCQs from 4 subjects - Biology, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
- 15 questions will be there from each subject.
- 3 marks will be awarded for correct answer, 1 mark will be deducted for incorrect answer and no marks will be given for no response.
- The exam will be conducted in both the mediums: English and Hindi
