The Yenepoya Foundation, which is a unit of the Yenepoya Moideen Kunhi Memorial Educational and Charitable Trust, announced its plan to sponsor certain meritorious candidates from economically weaker sections for certain courses in the Yenepoya Deemed to be University. The courses in Yenepoya Medical College that are applicable for this scholarship include:
Candidates will be selected on the basis of merit cum means. The Qualifying Examination marks would be assessed in this selection process. The eligibility for the scholarship includes only those candidates who have secured 80% and above in Grade X, Grade XI / Plus I Examination, and Plus II Pre Board examination/ Mid Term examination. Preference will be given to Muslim minority candidates.
All the hostel rooms are furnished and equipped with basic amenities. PG hostels are air-conditioned, whereas, in UG hostels, air-conditioned rooms are provided as per the personal request. The hostels have attached dining halls, TV rooms, Wi-Fi facilities, RO drinking water, and Laundry facilities. Separate hostels are provided for both men and women as follows. YMK men’s hostel has a capacity of 500, Zulekha ladies hostel has an 866 capacity and Gardenia Hostel, which has three blocks, can house 216 male students in Block A, 600 female students in Block B, and an extra block C for female students.

Ques. Can I apply to this college without the NEET exam?
Ans. For the MBBS, MD / MS, and M. Ch. courses, the NEET examination is necessary as per the guidelines of the Medical College of India. You can apply for the BHA, BPH, and B.Sc courses without having given the NEET exam before. The other courses require MBBS as eligibility criteria, which can be achieved only after giving the NEET Exam.

Ans. A passport size photograph, copy of marks card of the examinations mentioned duly attested by the Principal of the respective school/ college, should be enclosed. The application can be mailed to The Secretary, Yenepoya Moideen Kunhi Memorial Educational and Charitable Trust, Yenepoya University Campus, University Road, Deralakatte, Mangalore – 575 018.
Ques. What are the freeze, float and withdrawal options in the NEET counseling form?
Ans. If the candidate is satisfied with the allotted college in the form and does not want to be considered for any more rounds of the counseling can use the Freeze option. This is also known as the Lock option. On the other hand, if the candidate is satisfied but also wants to be considered for other colleges and rounds, he can use the Float option. Lastly, if the student is not satisfied with allotted college, and does not want to appear for the subsequent rounds, he can use the withdraw option.

Ans. The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) exam is an offline test multiple choice question paper that lasts 3 hours. It is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). It has 3 sections: Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/ Biotech. For every correct answer, 4 marks are given and for every wrong, 1 mark is cut.
