Institute of Management Studies, Devi Ahilya Viswavidyalaya was established as College of Business Management in 1969. It is the oldest institute situated in Indore and has successfully completed its 50 years journey of excellence.

Institute of Management Studies, Devi Ahilya Viswavidyalaya offers MBA in 6 specializations. Candidates who are willing to take admission can apply for any of the specializations online.

IMS, DAVV MBA Eligibility

It is necessary for applicants to meet the following eligibility in order to apply for the desired programme.

Eligibility for General MBA and other MBA programmes

Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks in aggregate (45% for SC/ST/PH candidates of Madhya Pradesh only).
Those who are in the final year of their Graduation can also apply.
The upper age limit for male candidates is 28 years on July 1. Relaxation of 3 years in upper age limit is provided to SC/ST/OBC candidates.
For candidates belonging to Physically Challenged category, the upper limit is 35 years.

NOTE - For General MBA, students must possess a valid CMAT scorecard.

Eligibility for Hospital Management

To apply for this MBA programme, applicants must have a MBBS, BDS, B.Sc (Nursing), B.Pharm, BBA (HA) or other medical degree equivalent to MBBS and one year internship from a recognized university with 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PH candidates of MP only).
Final year candidates are also eligible.
There is no age limit.

IMS, DAVV MBA Selection Criteria

The selection criteria differs for General MBA and other MBA programmes. One can check the complete criteria below.

Selection Criteria for General MBA

Candidates have to take part in the DTE counselling process conducted by the Government of Madhya Pradesh.
After registration and submission of CMAT scores at the counselling website, a merit list will be released depending upon the score obtained by candidates.
This list will contain names of students who have to be present for the counselling round.
Such applicants have to visit the Reporting centre where they will go through the document verification and choice filling process.
If students are allotted a seat as per the choices filled during any of the counselling rounds then they need to submit the documents online at the DTE counselling website.
Further, they have to pay a part of course fees to confirm the seat.
While the remaining course fee will be paid when reporting to the institute, completing the final stage of the admission process.
Lastly, applicants need to report at the Institute of Management, Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya in order to complete the admission process

Selection Criteria for other MBA Programmes

For all other MBA programmes, the university will conduct entrance test.
Those who obtain a merit in this test are selected for admission.
Therefore, the final selection for MBA in Financial Administration, Human Resource, Marketing Management, Disaster Management, Hospital Management and E-Commerce solely depends upon the merit in the entrance test.

The minimum requirement for both specializations is mentioned below:

Eligibility for Integrated MBA in E-Commerce

Candidates must have qualified Graduation with 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PH candidates of MP).
Final-year candidates can also apply.
The upper age limit for male candidates is 28 years. A relaxation of 3 years is given to SC/ST/OBC candidates.
Physically challenged candidates have a maximum age limit of 35 years for admission into the program.

Eligibility for Integrated MBA in Hospital Management

Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Biology and have obtained a minimum score of 50% (45% for SC/ST candidates of MP).
Those who have appeared for 10+2 exams are also eligible.

One must possess the following eligibility to apply for Executive MBA:

Candidates must have a Graduate or Postgraduate degree with minimum 45% marks from a recognized university.

When you look at Tier 3 cities, you should not expect good placements as compared to those you might bag in metro cities. The same is true for IMS Indore as well. It could be the best college in Madhya Pradesh, but the MBA program offered by the college is clearly not as enriching as that offered in a metro city. This will eventually affect placements which will cause them to be poorer. From what most of us have observed, not all students will get placed. Only about 50% of the total students will possibly land a job with the highest salary offered at INR 6.5 lakhs per annum. The lowest salary offered is INR 3.5 lakhs per annum. None the less, there are quite a few placement services offered by the college. These include summer placement and training that are offered on a regular basis. They also have strong linkages with the industry and many public organizations. Some of the recruiters at the college include ITC, Nestle, Aditya Birla, Johnson & Johnson, Asian Paints and Deloitte. Another helpful point that could possibly interest you is the collaboration for MBA in Hospital Administration that the college has with Tulane University in the US. As a suggestion, you should look for colleges in Maharashtra for an MBA as that will definitely help you seek better opportunities than IMS Indore.

One thing worth mentioning is that you are competing with IIPS students along with your batchmates at IMS as there will be common placement sessions for both campuses most of the time. The course curriculum and the faculties are really good at ISBS. If you are looking for a really good student crowd, you will find that at ISBS and even IIMP Pune. There are a number of advantages you will get to explore if you join ISBS. The college has an educational foreign trip to Singapore and also provides laptops to students. There are also a number of international and national seminars you can attend. You will also be able to gain a lot of certifications and go for industry visits. You will also have placement training for GDPI. My sister attended IMS Indore. So, I can give you some ideas about the institute. Academics at the institute are average at best. The faculties are good but they have a lack of enthusiasm in teaching. The placement at IMS Indore is very good. It is one of the best colleges in Central India. This college will give ample industry exposure and will help you in developing your skills through their events. There are various types of events organized in the college. The placement statistics at IMS Indore are as follows. Average CTC 4-4.5 LPA Highest CTC INR 7.3 LPA.
