IMT Hyderabad offers a Postgraduate Diploma in Management (PGDM), a Postgraduate Diploma in Management Program for Executives (PGDM Executive), and FPM. The programs have an equivalency of the MBA issued by AIU and the institute is accredited by AICTE and SAQS and NBA. The institute also offers certain certificates and sponsored research programs. As per the data collected, it is observed that not only Commerce or Management students enroll in PGDM program of IMT Hyderabad. In fact, more than 30% of enrolled students are from Engineering backgrounds. Apart from its flagship program, IMT Hyderabad also offers Executive PGDM and FPM programs. The selection of candidates for Executive PGDM is based on CAT/ XAT/ MAT/ CMAT/ ATMA followed by PI. Whereas for FPM, the institute accepts CAT/ GRE/ GATE/ UGC-NET test scores. Applicants also need to submit a research proposal of 5000 words in their area of research for FPM. Indian Institute of Management, Hyderabad offers a PGDM course in six specialisations.

IMT Hyderabad PGDM Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must have completed a degree in any discipline with at least 50% of the overall grade. Final-year candidates in their undergraduate degrees are also eligible to apply for the program.

IMT Hyderabad PGDM Selection Criteria

Candidates are shortlisted based on CAT/ XAT/ CMAT test scores.
Shortlisted candidates are required to share a 1-minute video introducing themselves and their background, career goals, etc.
Candidates also need to submit a 300 word SOP and Profile Details form.
Short-listed students need to appear for a Personal Interview Online with 23 panelists.
In the online interview, candidates are assessed on communication / social skills, analytical/ problem-solving skills, business affairs, and general skills.

IMT Hyderabad accepts CAT/XAT/CMAT/GMAT results for a variety of B-School entrance exams. The main reason I chose this college is because of its excellent placement rates and large class sizes. They also provide an on-campus hostel with a variety of amenities, which makes it even better as we didn't give much care to your stay.

Remarks:

The admission process in our stint was online and a personal interview was the parameter to gauge a student that whether that individual is fit for the Institute. The recommendation would be to accommodate two more parameters and weightage can be given accordingly.

Everything one should know before coming to IMT Hyderabad.

Remarks:

I took admission through the CMAT exam. The cut-off for the same was the 90 percentile. The admission process was very fair. It included two rounds. The First was a critical reasoning test and the second was a personal interview round. Though I didn't get any reservation benefits because I belong to the general category but there are opportunities for other candidates. One can find all the details regarding admission on the institute's official website and also on various YouTube channels. The eligibility is a minimum of three years of graduation from a recognized university followed by the accepted exams.

IMT is indeed a brand name but unfortunately, the brand's credibility is applicable only to IMT Ghaziabad. The other campuses carry very little brand worth and legacy of IMT. If there is an IMT that is slightly near to comparison then it is IMT Hyderabad. The other campuses are new and lack recognition. IMT Hyderabad campus is visited by some extremely reputed local companies thereby offering better placement opportunities. Some institutes that give an edge to IMT Hyderabad in Hyderabad itself are ASB (Ashoka School of Business) Hyderabad, NMIMS SIBM Hyderabad Business School ASB offers dual specialization and good placement at only INR 6.9 Lacs. The ROI period is only around a year.

You should first figure out if you are planning to join the college for placements or if you actually wish to improve yourself. 10 years back, a lot of students from IMT Nagpur did not get placements and jobs. It does not mean that you will not get placed at all. You will ultimately get a job but you should remember that ultimately what will help you is what you have learned during your degree. Your focus should be on your teachers as they will ensure that your base concepts are good and jobs will keep coming later in your life. Among these options, IMT Ghaziabad DCP is the best. Although expensive, this course offers better career prospects. Compared to Nagpur and Hyderabad campuses, IMTG is recognized in the industry. The dual country program offers exposure on an international level. IMT Ghaziabad placements in 2022 witnessed an average CTC of INR 15.28 LPA. The highest CTC offered this year was INR 62 LPA.

Having friends in both the institutes, I would suggest, between IMT Hyderabad and LBSIM, go for IMT Hyderabad, one of the most promising B-schools in the country. LBSIM is a 20-year-old institute. IMT recently received the "best Emerging B-school in Asia". It also received an award from ASSOCHAM for “best upcoming B-school in South India”. It has an excellent and reputed industry interface in India. They have a campus of 30 acres, a high-rated infrastructure, hostel, playgrounds, and many other facilities with decent placement. IMT has 37 faculty members while LBSIM has 30. IMT Hyderabad is better as it is the youngest member of the IMT group and it is situated in this city which is booming with regards to IT, marketing, and finance. The location acts as a huge advantage as it is just 30 minutes away from the main city and 7 to 10 minutes away from the international airport. The faculties are great with more than 80% of them having a Ph.D. in their respective fields. Some also have approximately 7 to 10 years of industry experience. As a part of the pedagogy, amazing Harvard cases are discussed. The best thing offered by the college is a 14 to 16-week internship which is a huge duration for industry exposure under the guidance of teachers.
