Thanjavur Medical College offers a number of medical degrees in the UG, PG and Postgraduate diploma level. In the Postgraduate level, students can choose between MD, MS and M.Ch courses across 16 disciplines. Those who are interested in a PG diploma can choose from nine available specializations.
- For UG programs, passing the 10+2 examination with 50% satisfies the eligibility criteria. For Post Graduate programs, an MBBS degree is mandatory.
- For the MBBS programs, students need to qualify the NEET UG exam conducted by NTA following which they need to participate either in the state counselling or in the centralized counselling. You can check the previous year cut-offs by clicking here.

The college is affiliated with the Tamil Nadu Dr MGR Medical University and operated by the Directorate of Medical Education, Tamil Nadu. Thanjavur Medical College is one of the most recognised medical colleges in the state of Tamil Nadu. Established in 1958 by Dr Rajendra Prasad, the first president of India, it is one of the oldest medical colleges in the region.
