St. Joseph’s College of Pharmacy is a prestigious institute offering quality education in the field of pharmacy studies in Cherthala, Kerala. It was established in year 2002 and affiliated to the Kerala University of Health Sciences.

St. Joseph’s College of Pharmacy currently offers D.Pharm, B.Pharm, M.Pharm in three specializations and Pharm D degree courses.

Candidates seeking admission to the Pharm D course must obtain at least 50% marks in 10+2 examination conducted by a recognized HS board with Physics, Chemistry and Maths/Biology as compulsory subjects.
Alternatively, candidates who have secured at least 50% marks in D.Pharm examinations conducted by an institute approved by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) are also eligible to apply.
For B.Pharm course, applicants need to score a minimum of 50% marks in 10+2 examinations with Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology/Maths/Computers as compulsory subjects.
Candidates seeking lateral entry admission in B.Pharm second year must successfully complete D.Pharm program with at least 50% marks in aggregate from an institute recognized by the Pharmacy Council of India.
Candidates interested in pursuing the D.Pharm course from the college must pass 10+2 examinations with Physics, Chemistry and Maths/Biology as compulsory subjects.
D.Pharm applicants who have completed V.H.S.E (Vocational Higher Secondary Education) course from 1994-95 session with Group A and B subjects are also considered eligible for admission. (Group A- NCERT approved Physics, Chemistry Maths syllabus; Group B- NCERT approved Physics, Chemistry and Biology syllabus).
50% seats for the D.Pharm course are filled on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination. Rest of the 50% seats are filled by management quota.
Candidates applying for the M.Pharm course must obtain at least 50% marks in B.Pharm examination conducted by an institute affiliated to the Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS) or any other university exam recognized by the KUHS.
Candidates are admitted on the basis of academic merit.
The application form and prospectus can be collected from the college admission office on payment of a small fee or requested by post.

St. Joseph’s College of Pharmacy B.Pharm and Pharm D Admission 2023

The college offers Pharm D (Doctor of Pharmacy) and B.Pharm (Bachelor of Pharmacy) spread over a period of six-year and four-year respectively. For B.Pharm, candidates seeking admission to these courses must secure at least 50% aggregate marks in 10+2 examinations conducted by a recognized HS board with Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology/Maths/ Computers as compulsory subjects. Candidates who have scored minimum 50% marks in D. Pharm exams conducted by an institute recognized by PCI are also eligible to apply for B. Pharm lateral entry (Direct Second Year). For Pharm D, candidate must pass 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry as compulsory subjects and Mathematics/Biology s temporary subjects or D.Pharm degree.

SJCP offers M.Pharm which is of two-year period and included specializations such as Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Pharmacology. Candidates must possess B.Pharm degree with least 50% marks from an institute affiliated to KUHS. Applicants who have studied in states other than Kerala must pass a qualifying exam recognized by KUHS.

Candidates seeking admission to the M.Pharm course must send their applications by filling out an application form obtained from the college campus or through post. A merit list is released by the college based on the marks secured by the applicants in B.Pharm examination. Candidates from outside the state can also specify marks obtained in GPAT (Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test). Shortlisted candidates whose names appear on the merit list have to report to the college for a brief counselling in which courses are allotted and documents are verified. St. Joseph’s College of Pharmacy offers AICTE approved D.Pharm course completed for a period of two-year. Candidates who have passed 10+2 examinations conducted by a recognized HS board or university with Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Maths as compulsory subjects are eligible to apply. Those who have completed a vocational course (V.H.S.E) of Kerala post 1994-95 with Group A (NCERT approved Physics, Chemistry and Maths syllabus) and Group B (NCERT approved Physics, Chemistry and Biology syllabus) subjects can also apply for the D.Pharm course.

Admissions are based on merit in the qualifying examination. 50% of seats available for the D.Pharm program are filled by management quota. Marks scored in Physics, Chemistry and Maths/Biology is considered for evaluating merit for management quota seats. Rest of the 50% seats are filled on the basis of ranks secured by applicants in the merit list, based on marks obtained by applicants in Physics and Chemistry at the Higher Secondary level.
