DFS DU Admission for MBA has begun and the last date to apply is January 8, 2024.


Department of Financial Studies (DFS) Delhi offers a full-time two-year MBA (Financial Management) program. Candidates who have a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks are eligible to apply in the MBA (Finance) course. Admission to the MBA program is offered on the basis of a valid score in the CAT Entrance Examination. In the final selection process, out of 100%, 60 weightage has been given to the CAT entrance exam scorecard and an extra 2.5 percentile concession has been given to the female candidates. The Final selection is based on CAT Scores, Marks scored in GD and PI, and Marks Scored in Class X and Class XII Examinations; and Weightage to female candidates. 

Department of Financial Studies (DFS) also offers the Ph.D. course. Candidates who have a master’s degree are eligible to apply. Candidates can fill the admission form online by paying the admission fees of Rs 750/-. Admission to the doctoral PhD program is based on Delhi University Entrance Test (DUET) scores with Research Proposal and PI. Read more about: DFS Admission

DFS DU MBA Admission 2023

DFS DU offers a 2-year duration MBA programme in Finance and Business Economics with an intake capacity of 110. Candidates who have bachelor’s degrees with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks are eligible to apply in the MBA course. The selection in the MBA course is based on the CAT entrance exam scorecard.

DFS DU MBA Eligibility criteria

  • Candidate should complete graduation or in the final year of graduation (10+2+3) in B. Com. (Hons.); B. A./B.Sc. (Hons.) (Economics); B. A. (Hons.) (Business Economics); BBS/BMS and BFIA/BBA(FIA) discipline, securing at least 50% marks, from any recognized university.

DFS DU Shortlist Criteria for Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI):

  • Short-listing will be done on the basis of candidates’ CAT percentile
  • Candidates that hold a B. Com. (Hons.); B. A./B.Sc. (Hons.) (Economics); B. A. (Hons.) (Business Economics); BBS/BMS and BFIA/BBA(FIA) receive additional weightage.
  • Female candidates are given some extra weightage.

DFS DU Application MBA form 2023

  • Only Online applications are approved, and no hard copy application form will be available.
  • Apply on the official website of DFS.
  • Candidates will be allowed to register on the website by submitting the required information, and then obtain a login Id and password.
  • Fill the application form with all the required details such as personal, academic, contact and work experience details.
  • You can apply for two programs i.e. MBA in Business Economics offered by the Department of Business Economics (DBE), Delhi University, and MBA in Finance offered by the Department of Financial Studies (DFS), Delhi University. But the selection processes are independent.
  • Payment of application form is INR 700 for ST, SC, PWD category students and INR 1000 for other candidates for one program.
  • Payment of application form for two program is INR 1200 for ST, SC, PWD category students INR 2000 for other candidates.

How to apply for CAT?

  • Register on the official website of CAT.
  • Fill the online application form with personal details, educational details, contact details, medium of language, program preference and exam center preference.
  • The process of uploading scanned photographs, the signature of the candidate and required documents.
  • Payment of application fees, for students belonging to general/OBC category INR 1900 and INR 950 for PWD/ST/SC candidates.
  • Print the confirmation page.
  • Without the CAT admit card, candidates will not be allowed to sit for the examination.

DFS DU Admission Procedure 2023

  • Apply for the DFS Application form on the official website of DFS, Delhi.
  • Candidates will be shortlisted for the final selection post their CAT examination results, considering other aspects too.
  • After attending the last session, the candidate will confirm the admission and pay the admission fees.

DFS DU PhD Admission 2023

DFS, Delhi offers a 3-year duration Ph.D. course in the fields of Finance and Accounting / Control and related interdisciplinary fields. Candidates who have a master’s degree with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks are eligible to apply in the PhD. course. The selection in the course is based on the DUET entrance exam with qualified UGC-NET (including JRF)/UGC-CSIR NET (including JRF)/DBT-JRF/ICMR-JRF/DST-INSPIRE/AYUSH-NET/GATE scores.

DFS DU PhD Eligibility Criteria

  • A post-graduate degree in commerce field like Accountancy, Mathematics or Economics from a recognized university.
  • A minimum of 55% aggregate marks in the same for general category candidates and a 5% relaxation for SC/ST/OBC candidates.
  • Candidates should qualify for the DUET entrance exam and UGC-NET (including JRF)/UGC-CSIR NET (including JRF)/DBT-JRF/ICMR-JRF/DST-INSPIRE/AYUSH-NET/GATE exam.

DFS DU PhD Selection Process

  • Candidates qualify the DUET an online entrance exam conducted by the National testing agency (NTA).
  • The Entrance Test consists of two sections: Research Aptitude/Methodology and Subject specific knowledge (Finance). Both the sections carry equal weightage.
  • Research Aptitude/Methodology contains Math, Basic Statistics & Econometrics, Data interpretation and Subject specific knowledge (Finance) contains Corporate finance, Investment Management, Financial Accounting and Analysis, Financial Institutions and services and Current Financial Affairs.
  • There is possibility of personal interviews (at the discretion of the department).
  • It is purely on Merit basis of the scores in DUET and personal interview if conducted any.

Department of Financial Studies, Delhi University is a good option for students interested in hard-core finance studies. The MBA (FM) is a sought-after degree. If you aren’t getting admission into major league colleges, DFS can be a good alternative.
