Course Description
In Person:
Candidates can obtain the Application Form in person from the 60 centres (detailed on Anna University’s official website) by paying Rs.500/-(Rs.250/- for SC/SCA/ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu, on production of a photocopy of the Permanent Community Card or electronic form / digitally signed e-Certificate) towards application fee, by cash/demand draft.
By Post:
Application Forms can also be obtained by post from "The Secretary, Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA), Anna University, Chennai-600025" by sending a requisition letter along with a Demand Draft for Rs.700/- (Rs.450/- for SC/SCA/ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu with a photocopy of the Permanent Community Card or electronic form / digitally signed e-Certificate) and an address label written in capital letters to which the application form is to be mailed

The candidates can also register through internet by logging on to www.annauniv.edu/tnea2015; the procedure for registration is available in the website. All Demand Drafts should be drawn in favour of “The Secretary, Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions” payable at Chennai, drawn on any Nationalised Bank dated on or after 05th May 2015
Candidates are instructed to write the name and address on the reverse side of the Demand Draft

Eligibility Criteria
Aspirants seeking admission to 4 years full-time BE program should meet the following criteria as specified by the institute.
Academic Requirement:
- A Pass in the HSC (Academic) or it's equivalent with a minimum 50% for general category, 45% for BC/BCM, 40% marks for SC/ST/SCA/MBC & DNC category candidates in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.
- A pass in any one of the HSC (Vocational Subject) as given with any one of the Engineering related Subjects namely Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry with a minimum 50% for general category, 45% for BC/BCM, 40% marks for SC/ST/SCA/MBC & DNC put together.
Entrance Exam:
Candidate must qualify TNEA enamination.

Selection Criteria
- The selection is done on the basis of TNEA rank. Candidates can fill the TNEA application form online.
- The rank list of TNEA is prepared on the basis of marks scored by the candidates at 10+2 examination in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
- The counselling for TNEA is organized by the Anna University
- Candidates will get the rank based on the merit and need to appear for counselling at the prescribed date, time and venue with the required documents
Eligibility Criteria for Lateral Entry:
- Candidates must have completed Diploma in Engineering in relevant stream with minimum average marks of 55% ((50 % for BC including BM, mere pass for SC/ ST/ SCA, 45% for MBC DNC) in the final year
- Candidates must have done Bachelor’s degree in Science (B.Sc.) of minimum duration of 3 years with Mathematics as one of the subjects at the graduation level and should have with minimum average marks of 55% ((50 % for BC including BM, mere pass for SC/ ST/ SCA, 45% for MBC DNC) in the final year.
