KCG College of Technology Chennai Admissions 2024
Admission to Bachelors courses is done through the Entrance Test (Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission) conducted by the Anna University, followed by a counseling process for selection. Preferences will be given to the candidates who score good marks in the HSC examination.
Admission in Masters Program, students have to qualify TANCET conducted by the State government followed by the central Counselling. On the basis of the performance of the candidate in TANCET followed by counselling and document verification conducted by Anna University, admission is given. Preference will be given to the students with valid GATE score.
The college invites applications for the Ph.D program in the months of August and February through the University Website. Selection is done on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination with valid GATE, NET or equivalent entrance score. The shortlisted candidates will be called for a written test followed by a personal interview.
How to Apply?
B.Tech/BE
Students applying for B.Tech courses have to apply for TNEA. The application form can be filled through the website of Anna University.
For Online Mode: Candidate have to pay INR 500 ( reserved candidates)
For Offline Mode: Candidates have to pay INR 700 ( INR 450 for SC/ST and OBC).
- TNEA counselling Procedure: All eligible candidates who have applied will be grouped into rounds as per the merit list. Counselling is held round wise therefore the applicants will be informed through SMS and Email alerts via their registered ids and mobile numbers during each stage of counselling.
- Step 1: Candidates has to fill the online TNEA application form and register for it by providing their personal and academic details. Registration fees has to be pay through online mode. download the printout of the application and the printout has to be submit only at the time of certificate verification. Fees Payable were INR 500 for Gen/OBC and INR 250 for SC/ST/SCA.
- Step 2: Random Number Generation: It is the number that is unique to each applicant and is generated by the system. It is given to resolve the queries raised by the candidates during the entire admission procedure.
- Step 3: Certificate verification: University has announced a list of facilitation centres in each district for the verification purposes. Candidates have to carry all their original documents to the counselling. The documents are:-
- Class 10th Marks sheet
- Class 12th/HSC Mark sheet
- Transfer certificate
- Permanent community certificate card for ST, SC, MBC & DNC and BCM.
- HSC Hall Ticket
- Nativity Certificate only in electronic form/digitally
- Signed e-certificate-if applicable.
- Srilankan Tamil Refugee certificate- if applicable
- Special Reservation Form with DD and Relevant Certificates- if applicable.
- Step 4: Rank list Publication: The rank list of all the candidates will be published by Anna University.
- Step 5: Payment of Initial Admission fee: Specified Counselling fee of INR 5000 ( INR 1000 for SC/SCA/ ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu) online through online mode or Bank Demand Draft.
- Step 6: Choice Filling: Candidates have to fill in their choice of colleges form TNEA participating Institutes and B.Tech programmes offered by them in the order of their priority. Choice filling will be allowed during every round of counselling.
- Step 7: Seat Allotment: Candidates will be allotted seats on the based of their merit, choice filling and reservation criteria. After seat allotment, they will be required to download the allotment order and verify the allotted college and course as printed on the letter. After confirming their seats, students have to report the college and enrol for admission before the given last date.
M.E
Seats are allotted to college through Counselling Conducted by the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET).
- TANCET will call the students based on the Entrance Marks for Counselling and will be allotted to college in various branches under Counselling Systems.
- The allotted students have to repost to the college within the reporting date given by TANCET.
- Students need to submit various documents to the college on getting Allotment Order and pay the fees.
- On submitting various documents and payment of the prescribed fees, the student will be admitted into the college.
Note- Applicants belonging to Tamil Nadu only will be considered for admission. However children of Central Government employees not domiciled in Tamil Nadu have to provide a valid certificate of their parents who have seen serving continuously for more than five year at the time of submission of application.

Hostel: KCG College of Technology has 2 in-hostels. One is girls' and the other is boys'. Hostel accommodations include a double bed, triple bed, or four-bed.
