KIT offers a Full-Time B.Tech in Biotechnology and B.E program in 8 different specializations. The prerequisites are as follows.

Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates should have passed 10+2 (HSC) with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or equivalent board with 50% marks for general category (45% marks for reserved category).
• The minimum age limit of the candidate should be 18 years.

Selection Criteria

• Candidates will be allotted seats based on TNEA counselling, conducted by Anna University to secure admission.

How to apply for TNEA?

Documents required

• Class 10th and 12th Mark sheet and Passing Certificate.
• Identity Proof.
• Category Certificate.
• Counselling Call Letter.
• Six Passport Size Photographs.

Application process:

• Visit the official website of TNEA and fill out the application form. Fill out the application with all the required details.
• A fee of INR 500 will be charged, which has to be paid through credit card/debit card/net banking.
• Take out a printout of the application form and send a copy to the Director of Admissions at Anna University.
• After the merit list is declared, candidates have to download the counselling call letter and visit the counselling venue with the necessary documents and a demand draft of 5,000 INR.
• After documentation, an allotment order will be handed to the applicant and the counselling fee has to be paid.
• To confirm the admission, the candidate has to report to their college and submit the allotment order.

A full-time program in ME with 5 specializations is also offered. The requirements are as follows:

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should have passed B.E./B.Tech. degree with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for reserved categories).

Selection Criteria

• TANCET score is mandatory to secure admission in the M.E. program.
• Cut-offs are the minimum marks in the merit list prepared course wise by Anna University.
• Students with a valid GATE score are exempted from appearing for TANCET. 
• If the candidates qualify in the entrance exam, they need to apply individually for TANCA Counselling for admission.

Admission Process

Students who qualify for the GATE exam can directly apply for TANCA for admissions. 

How to Apply for GATE?

The applications are accepted through the official website of GOAPS. Where the applicant must register first to create a new registration using one unique email id.

• Scanned photograph and signature 
• Valid Photo ID (Aadhaar Card/Passport/Driving License/PAN Card/Voter ID/College ID/Employee Identification Card/Notarized Affidavit with Photo, Signature, Date of Birth and Residential Address).
• Degree Certificate/Provisional Certificate/Course Completion Certificate.
• Copy of mark sheet of V /VI /VII semester.
• Final year students must submit Provisional Certificate Letter as per format issued by the Home of Institute/Dean/Registrar/Head of Dept.
• Candidates in the final year of AMIE have to submit their mark sheet for Section A of AMIE in case of professional equivalent qualifications.
• Caste Certificate/Disability or PwD Certificate (if applicable).
• Candidates pursuing a higher degree or masters have to submit the qualifying degree certificate.

Candidates must have a degree in B.Tech/B.Arch/B.E/B.Pharm with at least 50% marks for general category and 45% for SC/ST candidates.

Selection Criteria

Selection to the MBA program will be determined by the TANCET Exam Scores and Counselling conducted by Anna University.

Candidates must have a 3 Year Bachelor's Degree with Mathematics as a subject either in 10+2 or graduation level and min 50% in the qualifying degree examination (45% for reserved category candidates).

Admission Process

Application Process:

• Register for the TANCET exam online on the official website.
• After successful registration log-in, and fill the application form by providing personal, academic, and qualification details.
• Upload a scanned copy of the photograph with the required specifications.
• Pay the application fee of INR 600 for the general category and INR 300 for reserved category through net banking/debit card/credit card and submit.
• After submitting the application, take a print out of the application form for future reference.

• Class 10th, 12th, and Graduation Mark sheet.
• Caste Certificate if applicable
• Birth Certificate and Govt. ID Proofs.
• Passport Size Photograph of size not more than 30 KB in JPG/JPEG format.

TANCA Application Process

Admission to these above given courses are offered through TANCA. The counseling dates vary for every course. Read on to find more details of the counseling.

• Candidates have to register through online mode at the Web portal.
• They must enter an active mobile number and email ID.
• Enter relevant personal and educational details 
• Choose the save/submit button.
• Preview the forms and make changes, if required.
• Finally, click submit and save button to make an online fee payment.

Documents Required

Candidates have to upload scanned images of the following given documents while registering for TANCA counseling: 

• Mark sheets of X, XII or Diploma (3 years) Certificate
• Qualifying Degree certificate, provisional certificate and mark sheets of all semesters or Consolidated mark sheet. 
• Transfer certificate from the institution last studied
• Valid GATE score card and TANCET hall ticket for GATE qualified category
