J.K. Institute of Applied Physics and Technology Allahabad offers admission to B.Tech. program on the basis of performance in JEE Main, the national level entrance conducted collectively by the IITs. For B.Sc. programs, selection is done on the basis of performance in qualifying examination, i.e. academic merit. Candidates must have a pass at the 10+2 level from the Science stream to be eligible to apply.

JEE consists of a 3-hour paper and consists of 90 questions covering all relevant subject matter to the engineering field.

Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are given equal weightage.
The questions are objective-type.
Four marks are given for every correct response, and 1/4^th is deducted for incorrect responses.

GATE consists of a 3-hour paper with 65 questions covering all relevant subject matter to the field as studied at the undergraduate level.

Sections are included on general aptitude as well as technical aspects.

My friend is a student who will graduate from this college this year. To begin with, everything positive about this college is no longer true as per what my friend experienced. Anyone who is currently enrolled in this college is well aware of this. So, whatever excellence you've read, know that it's now gone.

In terms of experience, this college is the most unique you'll come across, as it houses a political science department that essentially symbolizes the current Indian administration.
You won't learn anything from the teachers here, so you're free to learn whatever you choose.
There are no placement facilities, no possibilities to go outside, and no administrative support.
Every student who has ever accomplished anything here has done solely due to his or her merit.
If you have secured a rank for this college, you can probably go to a decent college instead, so please do that.
Otherwise, you will surely regret your decisions in the future.
Also, they have a dreadful year-back system; My friend has seen so many students' lives get messed up and squandered in this college as a result of this system.
If you fail here, you're doomed for the rest of the course you have enrolled in.

You will discover how awful things can get because every vice and illness is present at this college, and this will help you socially and politically. Because there are no lessons to worry about, you can prepare for whatever you choose after you have joined one of the courses at this college.
