Institute of Technology, Nirma University (ITNU), (formerly known as Nirma Institute of Technology) is a private engineering college located at Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. The institute was founded by Nirma Education and Research Foundation (NERF) in the year of 1995.

Institute of Technology, Nirma University offers M.Tech degree program under 10 different specializations covering almost all aspects of Engineering and Technology. These include MTech in VLSI Design, Embedded Systems, Computer Science and Engineering, CSE with specialisation in Information and Network Security, CSE with specialisation in Data Science, Computer Aided Design and Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAD/CAM), Thermal Engineering, and Civil Engineering (Computer Aided Structural Analysis and Design – CASAD).

Eligibilty:

M.Tech Regular

Candidates must have done graduation in engineering/ technology from the recognised institute with minimum %age prescribe by AICTE.
Candidates appearing for the final semester will have to provide the degree or result as soon as the result is declared. Candidates also have to provide the certificate from the Head of institute assuring that candidate has appeared for the examination.
Candidates whose results are declared in CGPI have to obtain the certificate with equivalent marks percentage from the concerned university.
Candidates (All Category) other than Nirma University have to produce the eligibility certificate from Nirma University at the time of counselling by paying INR 1000.

M.Tech by Research

Candidate must be graduate in Engineering/Technology from reconginsed university with minimum required marks prescibe by AICTE.
Candidates opting for (M.Tech by Research -External) ) should have 3 years of experience in R&D within a organisation or institute after graduation.

Selection Process:

M.Tech Regular

Candidates those who have appeared for GATE but they have not qualified score. They will be considered as Non GATE candidates and have to appear for written test.
Syllabus for the test is same as of GATE exam. There will be 60 objective type questions of 1 mark each. Duration of test is 1 hour.
If seats are filled by GATE candidates, then there will be admission offered to NON GATE candidates.

M.Tech by Research

There will be an interview conducted on campus by the panel which includes Dean of Faculty, Head of Department and Department Faculty.

Tie Breaker

In case candidates have equal GATE or written test scores then they will be evaluate on the following basis:

Candidates selected after document verifucation will be given admission on same day.

In addition to the M.Tech program, Institute of Technology, Nirma University also offers Master of Computer Application (MCA) program at the postgraduate level.

Admission to the Master of Computer Application (MCA) Course shall be given as under:

All the Government Seats shall be filled on the basis of merit list prepared by the Admission Committee.
All the Management Seats shall be filled by the management of the respective Professional Educational.

For the purpose of admission, a candidate shall have appeared in the CMAT (Common Management Aptitude Test) as prescribed by AICTE, for the corresponding year.

For the purpose of admission to the first year of the Master of Computer Application (MCA) courses, available seats shall include,-

Government Seats:
- All the sanctioned seats of the Master of Computer Application (MCA) course in the Government Colleges or Institutions of the State
- All the sanctioned seats of the Master of Computer Application (MCA) course in the aided Colleges or Institutions
- Seventy-five percent of the total sanctioned seats of the Master of Computer Application (MCA) course in the unaided Colleges or Institutions, and
- All supernumerary seats of the professional courses in the Government colleges or institutions and in the aided and unaided Colleges or Institutions.
Management Seats:
- Twenty-five percent seats of the total sanctioned seats of the Master of Computer Application (MCA) course in the unaided Colleges or Institutions, including fifteen percent Non-Resident Indian (NRI) seats
- The intimation received, in respect of sanction of seats, by the Admission Committee three days prior to the commencement of the first counselling program, shall be considered as available seats
- If any unaided College or Institution requests to fill up the Management Seats by the Admission Committee, three days prior to the commencement of the counselling program, such Management Seats shall also be considered as available for giving admission, and
- The unaided college or institution shall fill up the Management Seats up to 5 % of the sanctioned intake from the students of the out of the State, on the basis of CMAT of corresponding year and inter-se merit prepared in accordance with the provisions of rule 11 irrespective of whether such candidate has applied to the Admission Committee or not, subject to the conditions that the student fulfils the eligibility criteria for admission prescribed under these rules and has passed the qualifying examination from the recognized University/Institute.

Reservation of Seats :

For the purpose of admission, the seats shall be reserved for the candidates who are of Gujarat origin and falling under the following categories and in following proportion, namely, Scheduled Castes : 7 %, Scheduled Tribes : 15%, Socially and Educationally Backward Classes, including Widows and orphan of any caste : 27%, Unreserved Economically Weaker Sections : 10%.
Three percent of the available seats in each category shall be reserved for the persons with disability who can perform the academic activities in the respective course. A candidate with disability shall have to submit certificate of disability issued and duly signed by the Civil Surgeon.
One percent of available seats shall be reserved for the children of Defence personnel and Ex-Servicemen.
The seats remaining vacant against the category of Defence Personnel and Ex-Servicemen shall be filled up from the merit list of unreserved category candidates.
The children of Defence Personnel and Ex-Servicemen of Gujarat origin shall be included under the reserved category specified in this rule, if they have passed the qualifying examination from the college or institute located outside the Gujarat State and have appeared in the Common Management Aptitude Test (CMAT) as prescribed by AICTE, conducted in the corresponding academic year.
Two supernumerary seats in each college or institute shall be filled by the candidates who are migrants of the State of Jammu and Kashmir, in accordance with the directions from the All India Council of Technical Education, New Delhi and Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India, subject to the eligibility criteria prescribed in these rules. Such candidate shall be exempted from appearing in the Common Management Aptitude Test (CMAT) as prescribed by AICTE.

Institute of Technology, Nirma University offers Ph.D program in diversified specializations of Engineering at the doctoral level.

Admission will be done on the basis of an entrance test will be conducted for the eligible candidates which will be followed by an interview by a expert panel appointed by the University. An interview / viva-voce to be organized by the University when the candidates are required to discuss their research interest / area through a presentation before the Department of Research Committee. Final merit shall be based on the merit of interview / viva-voce.

I get admission through JEE Mains score. You can also get admission through 12th board and GUJCET score basically on the basis of ACPC rank. Application form is available on Nirma University website. Appliaction fees is around 1000/- approximately also you can check on website if any changes happen in fees. Eligibility is candidate must have passed 12th board with the minimum percentage of marks mentioned in the latest eligibility guidelines by the ACPC.

My cousin completed his B.Tech from Nirma Institute of Technology who stayed in the community hostel named Saurashtra Kadva Patel Samaj situated in Gandhinagar. However, he had friends from various hostels, and here is his insight about the hostels. Hiramani: This is the most liberal hostel for students in terms of rules and timings. You can return late at night and can indulge in typical hostelling activities like playing LAN games, watching movies on the laptop, etc, as long as you aren’t disturbing others. However, many students complain about the bad quality of mess food. SGVP: It is a gurukul of Swaminarayan, thus making it quite religious and strict in terms of rules and decorum. Honestly, if you belong to a religion other than Hinduism then you might feel uncomfortable at times. However, the food quality is one of the best as they provide really healthy and tasty breakfast, lunch and dinner. The biggest drawback of this hostel is that there are no doors in the room hence no privacy at all. Also, check out the following restrictions you have to face if you live in SGVP. You have to wake up by 6:30, take a bath, do Pooja and assemble for prayer in the evening and return to the hostel before 10:00 pm. You are not allowed to make noise by playing loud games. You can not watch any objectionable things on your laptop, because the rector can barge into the room at any time. If you break any rule you will have to pay a fine. Saurashtra Kadva Patel Samaj: Here, my cousin chose to live for 2 years out of his B.Tech journey. The hostel was neat and clean and fees were just 20000 for a year, however, the food was just satisfactory. Overall, it is highly recommended for freshers to join SGVP because of cleanliness, great food, and discipline. But, if you have budget constraints, the fees might seem high. Nevertheless, it is worth the fees.

I have a friend who is doing his B.Tech from Nirma University and have a better idea about the selection process and cut-off. Here is what he had to say. According to him, with merit of above 2000, you will need to wait for the spot round, i.e. the end of the admission process. You would receive an email from the authorities in the college asking you to attend the counseling session they would organize for freshers. Going by the recent trend of cutoff, you will probably get electronics, civils, chemical, or even instrumentation branches in the spot round. Getting into Chemical or other branches will be tough with this rank. It will be difficult to get Electronics with this course also, given the rising demand of the branch.
