Dr. N.G.P College of Education was established in 2005 in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. The institute is affiliated to Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University (TNTEU) and is run by Kovai Medical Centre Research & Educational Trust. The college offers B.Ed. with specializations in Tamil, English, Mathematics, Physical Science, Biological Science, History, Economics, Computer Science and Commerce.

Dr. N.G.P College of Education offers one-year B.Ed. program for the candidates who have completed under graduate degree in the concerned stream. If the candidate has studied more than one main subject during graduation (under Double / Triple Major System), he/ she must chose one main subject and should apply for that optional only.

Candidates who have not qualified class 12th but possess Bachelors preparatory program certificate/ two years foundation course certificate/ two years Diploma course by Tamil Nadu State Education Board along with three year UG course will also be eligible to apply.

Applicants who have obtained Post Graduation degree in Home Science/ Economics/ Commerce/ Political Science/ Commerce/ Sociology/ Psychology/ Logic/ Indian Culture/ Philosophy without undergoing 10+2+3/ 11+1+3 year pattern of education will not be considered suitable for admission. Apart from this, students who have obtained UG/ PG degree from Open University without qualifying 11years of SSLC examinations and one year Pre University Course/ class 12th must not apply.

Admissions to the course will strictly be merit based, as per candidate’s academic performance in qualifying examinations.

For Physically handicapped and visually challenged, there is no criteria for minimum marks, only pass in graduation will be considered eligible.
Applications with Double Degree/ Additional degree program with less than three-year will be rejected as per the university rules.
For calculation of merit, marks will not be rounded off to next higher integer.
Marks in PG (except in Economics) will not be considered for admission.
In case of candidates having completed five-year Integrated courses (10+2+5 or 11+1+5 pattern of study), only the marks secured in first three years of the course (in major and ancillary / allied subjects alone) will be taken into consideration.
For calculation of qualifying marks, candidate’s scores in Major, Allied subjects and Practical will be considered.
