Established in 1982 as Autonomous Institute of Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC), Wildlife Institute of India (WII) is an internationally acclaimed Institution, which offers a training program, academic courses and advisory in wildlife research and management.

Wildlife Institute of India offers a two-year Master’s course in Wildlife Science the M.Sc. course in Wildlife Science has been developed to impart training in the field of wildlife science and to further the cause of wildlife conservation in India and elsewhere.
After the successful completion of the course, candidates will be awarded M.Sc. Wildlife Science Degree by the Saurashtra University, Rajkot, Gujarat.
Candidates applying must have a minimum of 15 years of formal education (either 10+2+3 or 11+2+2).
For admission, a candidate will have to sit for a NET exam. Shortlisted candidates will be called for Personality Aptitude Test and Interview.
For the final selection, 50% weight age is given to both NET and PAT.
NET will be for 2 hours duration for 100 marks question paper. The test will have 30 marks MCQs on General Awareness including Current Affairs, Quantitative Skills, English Language and Computer knowledge; 40 marks MCQs on environment, forest, wildlife and conservation issues and 30 marks for essay question on an environmental, forest, wildlife or conservation issues.
For foreign candidates, the final merit list will be based on 50% marks in the Graduation degree and 50% marks obtained in the interview (Maximum marks - 100) which will be conducted by Skype or other online means.

Wildlife Institute of India offers a Post-Graduate Diploma Course of 10-month duration in Advanced Wildlife Management.
Candidates applying should possess a background of Forestry training with a minimum of Bachelor's degree in any of the natural sciences.
Foreign applicants must have a minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Forestry/Natural Resource Management (NRM) with proficiency in English.

Wildlife Institute of India offers three months Certificate course in Wildlife Management. The course will be conducted from 1st November 01 to January 31.
Government lecturers having experience in the field of Wildlife Science may also apply.
Non Indian candidates with equivalent forestry/ environmental science background and field experience are also eligible for the course. They should preferably have adequate knowledge of English language.
State Forest Departments or Foreign Governments/ Agency must send nominations of eligible candidates. Details must be filled in the application form and sent to Institute with the endorsement of the competent authority in the state government/ nominating agency.
