Ph.D Biostatistics
  • Duration: 3-6 Years
  • Eligibility: The candidate must have aggregate of 60% marks in postgraduate degree in Statistics or Mathematics.
  • The candidates appearing in the final examination and having secured at least 60% marks on an average in all examinations held during the postgraduate degree programme are also eligible to apply.
Ph.D Bioinformatics
  • Duration: 3-6 Years
  • Eligibility: The candidate must have aggregate of 60% marks in postgraduate degree in Computer Science or Bioinformatics.The candidates appearing in the final examination and having secured at least 60% marks on an average in all examinations held during the postgraduate degree programme are also eligible to apply.
M.Sc and Ph.D Biotechnology
  • Duration:5-7 Years
  • Eligibility: The candidates who have secured 60% aggregate marks or an equivalent grade point average in undergraduate degree in any branch of Science, Engineering, or Medicine are eligible to apply for admission. The candidates belonging to the SC, ST, OBC (non-creamy layer), and PWD categories shall be given a relaxation of 5% aggregate marks.

RCB Gurgaon Admissions

The admission process for Regional Centre for Biotechnology, Gurgaon is through online mode only. The candidates are short-listed for the respective courses they have applied for on the basis of the entrance test conducted by the college BET (Biotechnology Eligibility Test). 

How to apply?

Students who want to apply for a course in the college follow the below mentioned steps:

  • The application is accepted through online mode.
  • For applying online, the candidates can go on the website and register themselves as an applicant after which the candidate has to fill out basic personal details.
  • Post completion of the registration process, a login id and password will be sent to the registered email id of the candidate which can be utilized to login to the college application.

  • Library: RCB library houses several copies of the standard international textbooks about biotechnology which is practiced by the researchers and is taught to the students as part of coursework. The RCB library consists of over 500 scientific textbooks and 100 administrative books. RCB also has an electronic library that provides access to a vast range of primary literature in the form of peer-reviewed journals and reviews for both students and staff for research purposes.
  • High Performance Computing Cluster & IT Infrastructure: The Information and Communication facilities at RCB are continuously evolving with state-of-the-art facilities with a high-performance computing (HPC) cluster available for research in computational biology. The students at RCB are provided with the latest updated software and hardware in their computer systems.
  • Imaging: The infrastructure and facilities provided at RCB campus are state-of-the-art and updated with the technological advancements including atomic force microscopy. Atomic Force Microscopy is a powerful tool in material science, nanotechnology, Nano biotechnology and Biomedical Research. It allows better understanding of the molecular interaction at a single molecule level.
  • Advanced Technology Platform Centre (ATPC): The facility is designed for advanced technological research for the students and staff in the field of Biotechnology. Flow Cytometry Facility at the ATPC is also available which helps in cell counting, sorting, biomarker detection and protein engineering, and multiparametric analysis of the physical and/or chemical characteristics of cells routinely used for the diagnosis of health disorders, and several applications in basic research, clinical practice and clinical trials.

Ques. Can a candidate in the final year of his/her postgraduate degree apply for a course in RCB, Gurgaon?

Ans. A candidate who has either appears or is due to appear in the final examination of their qualifying postgraduate degree is eligible to apply for the course under the result awaited (RA) category. The candidates applying under this category will have to submit the attestation form duly certified by the Head of the Institute with a stamp from where the candidate is appearing for the qualifying degree. Failing to comply with this instruction will result in rejection of application.

Ques. What does the syllabus of BET (Biotechnology Eligibility Test) include?

Ans. The Question paper of BET (Biotechnology Eligibility Test) has two parts namely, Part-A which includes General aptitude & General Biotechnology and Part-B which includes General plus specialized branches in Biotechnology. Part-A of the question paper will have all compulsory 50 MCQ questions in General science, Mathematics, Chemistry, General aptitude, analytical, quantitative ability, general biotechnology etc. Part B will consist of 150 questions out of which only 50 questions need to be answered.
