New Delhi: Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology (RGCB), an autonomous institution of the Department of Biotechnology, is accepting applications from GAT-B qualified applicants to enter their MSc Biotechnology programme. For the academic year 2022-24, Candidates who are interested and qualified should apply online at rgcb.res.in/msc2022.php.

RGCB was launched in July 2019, a highly innovative MSc Biotechnology Program with three unique specializations - Disease Biology, Molecular Diagnostics & DNA Profiling and Genetic Engineering. 

The MSc program of RGCB is affiliated to the Regional Centre for Biotechnology an "Institution of National Importance" providing education, training and research established by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India under the auspices of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization or UNESCO, a specialized agency of the United Nations (UN) based in Paris.

RGCB MSc Biotech course 2022: Highlights 

The RGCB Masters Degree in Biotechnology will be for two years inclusive of four semesters. Candidates can apply for the MSc Biotechnology programme for the academic year 2022-24 until 5:30 p.m. on June 30, 2022.

Disease biology, molecular diagnostics and DNA profiling, and genetic engineering are among the specialisations available in this programme. The course will last two years and be divided into four semesters. The course has a total of 20 spots available.

Students admitted to the course will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 6000 in the first year and Rs 8000 in the second year.

1. All candidates must have a valid GAT-B score
2. Students with valid GAT-B score must also have 60% aggregate marks (or an equivalent grade point average) in Bachelor's degree in any branch of Science, Engineering, or Medicine are eligible to apply. Students from the SC, ST, OBC (non-creamy layer), and PWD categories shall be given a relaxation of 5% aggregate marks. Students in the final year of their qualifying degree program are also eligible to apply provided that they produce a proof of having secured the required marks in their undergraduate degree program at the time of admission. Also please upload the previous semester/year marksheet of your Bachelor degree.
3. The final selection of the students will be done based on the GAT-B Cutoff rank/Score fixed by RGCB for each category.

Instructions for Applicants

Candidates must go through the instruction carefully and fill the application form, once submitted, no edits/ modifications will be permitted.

1. Students in the final year of their qualifying degree program are also eligible to apply provided that they produce a proof of having secured the required marks in their undergraduate degree program at the time of admission.
2. Candidates need not send any documents such as proof of age, proof of category, etc. or hard copy application
3. Candidates must fill the application form carefully, once submitted, no edits/ modifications will be permitted.
4. Candidates are advised to complete their online form submission well before the last date to avoid last minute rush. RGCB will not be responsible for connectivity issues or any other problems at the last minute.
5. All necessary intimations will be sent through E-mail to the registered email id. Candidates are advised to visit the website for any new information/ announcement.
