Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering is a private Institute established in 1963 and affiliated with VTU Belgaum. SJCE is the first college in Karnataka to introduce Electronics and Communication branch of Engineering in the year 1968. The College has been approved by AICTE and NBA and has been ranked at #151 by NIRF 2023. The campus is spread over 117 acres of area and it consists of several recognizable buildings.
SJCE offers sevearl courses at the UG, PG and Doctoral level such as BE, MTech, MBA, MCA, and PhD. However, the institute is mainly known for its flagship BE course and admission is strictly based on qualifying exams like KCET and COMED K. The Institute accepts a valid KCET score followed by counselling rounds for BE admission. The SJCE KCET cutoff 2023 for the BE program ranged from 2408-118449 for the general merit category students. Candidates can also apply for the MBA and MCA programs which is offered for a duration of 2 years. Candidates must have a valid PGCET score to apply for the SJCE PG programs. The institute alos offers PhD programs for a duration of 3 years and admisison to this course is based on the merit-basis.
SJCE placements 2023 reports are out. The stduents of the institute have received more than 700 no. of offers from top companies like Sony, Tital and Tech Mahindra. The highest package recorded by the institute was iNR 56 LPA in the BE Computer Science Engineering department whereas the lowest package stood at INR 7 LPA in the Construction Technology Management branch. Furthermore, SJCE provides internship opportunities to students every year. M.Tech students are offered around 8 weeks of Industrial training followed by project assignments. The Internship stipend ranges between INR 15,000/- per month to INR 35,000/- per month. More than 25 companies visit the college to recruit students for internship.

Admissions at SJCE are made on marks obtained in the qualifying entrance exam.
- For B.E. admissions, applicants need to submit CET/ COMED-K
- For M.Tech admissions, applicants need to submit Karnataka PGCET exam score.

- Click on the 'new user' button and proceed with the creation of login ID and password.

SJCE conversion to JSS has not degraded the value of the course or the degree. These are said to be rumors spread by rival institutions. Let me share some of the facts which might clear your views regarding the institution.
- The placements are not affected as notable companies keep on visiting the campus. SJCE has maintained a good relationship with the companies
- The institute sets its own syllabus, which is industry-oriented unlike that of VTU which is not usually updated.
- SJCE is known for its brand, the name is not removed from the degrees and is often mentioned by recruiters in India and abroad.
- The degree programs are accredited by NBA and the degree awarded by the University is recognized by countries that have signed the Washington accord. So, while applying for PG in other countries, your degree has its value.
- It follows the OBE system and has 5 events per subject which are similar to the model followed by foreign universities, unlike VTU who still follows the age-old internals concept.
It is suggested that you do not go by rumors spread by rival institutions. You can definitely put your trust in SJCE, as it stands strong as one of the notable educational institutions in Karnataka.
