SSIET BTech admission 2024 is done through the TNEA exam. The TNEA tentative exam 2024 dates have been announced. The start date of the online TNEA registration is May 4, 2024. The last date of registration for the same is June 4, 2024. Candidates can apply for TNEA through its official website.


Sree Sastha Institute of Engineering and Technology [SSIET], established in 1999, is a private technical institute located in Chennai. SSIET is affiliate to Anna University and offers various Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) courses with many specializations.

UG courses include a 4-year B.E./B.Tech course with a total intake of 990 students and a 3-year B.Arch. course.  Similarly, the PG courses offered by SSIET include a 2-year M.E./M.Tech. course along with a MBA course.

  • Candidates seeking admission to the UG courses should have passed HSC/Class 12th or any equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects and with minimum aggregate marks of 50% (45% for OBC and 40% for SC/ST).
  • Admission to the B.E./B.Tech course is done on the basis of merit through the rank list released after applying for TNEA (Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions) process.
  • On the basis of marks secured in NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture), candidates will be given admission to 5-year B.Arch. course.
  • Candidates seeking admission to the M.E./M.Tech course should have a B.E./B.Tech degree from a recognized university in their relevant branch.
  • Admission to M.E/M.Tech courses is done on the basis of marks secured in TANCET examination.
  • Those applying to the MBA course should have a degree from a recognized university in the 10+2+3 pattern.
  • The application process for the UG courses usually starts in the month of May every year.
  • All admissions are done on the basis of Anna University guidelines.

  • Candidates applying to the college should belong to Tamil Nadu and should have qualified 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th and 12thstandard in the state.
  • Domicile residents of Tamil Nadu who have completed their 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th standard examinations from outside the state are also eligible for admission provided they submit a copy of their Nativity Certificate only in electronic form/digitally signed e-Certificate.
  • A relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks is given for OBC candidates and a relaxation of 10% is given to candidates belonging to SC/SCA/ST and MBC/DNC category.
  • Candidates must apply for TNEA conducted by Anna University. The application process begins in May every year.
  • An offline counselling is done for TNEA after the rank list is released.

Candidates seeking admission to the B.Arch course should have passed HSC/Class 12th or any equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects and with minimum aggregate marks of 50% (45% for OBC and 40% for SC/ST).

Admission is done on the basis of marks secured in NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture), conducted by the Council of Architecture. Final admission is done for candidates who have secured a minimum of 80 out of 200 in the NATA exam.

Candidates seeking admission to the M.E./M.Tech course should have a B.E./B.Tech degree from a recognized university in their relevant branch.

Admission to the M.E/M.Tech courses is done on the basis of marks secured in TANCET examination. Candidates need to appear for the TANCET examination and then fill the application form through Anna University.

An offline counselling is held for shortlisted students where the candidates need to choose their specialization and finish the admission formalities.

Admission to the MBA course is done on the basis of marks secured in CAT examination. Candidates need to apply for SSIET with their CAT score. An offline counselling is held for all the shortlisted candidates.

Sree Sastha Institute of Engineering and Technology Application Process

Candidates applying for any of the courses need to fill in the application form of Anna University. An on-campus counselling is done for candidates who have filled the application form.

  • Application form of SSIET can be obtained from the college.
  • For TNEA, application forms are available in both online and offline mode.
  • Candidates need to fill the TNEA application form online and generate a print out of the application.
  • The printed application form along with all the required documents is required to be submitted in offline mode i.e, in person or by Registered post to ‘Secretary, TNEA, Anna University, Chennai – 600 025’.
  • Application form for TNEA can be obtained by paying Rs 500/- for general candidates and Rs 250/- for reserved candidates.
  • The applicants will have to pay the required application fees for the application form to be accepted.  The mode of payment will be offline (SBI Buddy) or online (Net Banking/ Credit Card/ Debit Card).
  • The Important Documents that are required while applying and at the Counseling are –
    1. Nativity/Domicile Certificate (if applicable)

    4. Transfer Certificate

Reservation Criteria

A relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks is given for OBC candidates and a relaxation of 10% is given to candidates belonging to SC/SCA/ST and MBC/DNC category.

SSIET also provides reservation of seats according to the various categories. The following table describes the percentages of seats reserved under each category.

  • A variety of scholarships are offered to the students at SSIET based on the marks secured in Class XII.
  • Besides merit cum means scholarships, scholarships like Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam merit scholarship, Sir C.V. Raman Saastha genius merit exam scholarship, Sachin Tendulkar Sports Scholarship exist.
  • Students can avail the same scholarship benefits in all subsequent years provided they score a CGPA of 9 in the internal examinations.
