• For B.Tech, candidates must have passed the intermediate exam (10+2) or its equivalent with a minimum of 45% marks, with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subject; and anyone of Chemistry/ Biotechnology/Biology/ Technical Vocational as optional subject, from any recognized Board or university.
• For B.Tech (Lateral): Diploma holders in Engineering/Technology and B.Sc. Degree holders, with a minimum of 45% marks, are eligible for admission into the third semester (2nd year) of B.Tech courses 
• Students appearing for 10+2 or Engineering Diploma are also eligible.

Siliguri Institute of Technology B.Tech, B.Tech (Lateral) Selection Criteria

• Admission to B.Tech (80% seats) is through counselling based on the rank obtained in West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEE).
• Admission to B.Tech (10% seats) is through counselling based on the rank obtained in JEE Mains examination.
• There is a provision of 10% of WBJEE sets to be filled up through Management Quota.
• Admission to B.Tech (Lateral) is done through the merit based on the qualifying marks & WBJEE exam, and subsequent Counselling by CSC (E&T) on a supernumerary basis, as per AICTE notification.
