Admission to BE program is based on a valid score in KCET conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA).
M.Tech, MBA and MCA admissions are based on a valid score in Karnataka PGCET followed by counselling.
GATE qualified candidates are also eligible to apply for M.Tech program.
For MBA program, CAT/ MAT or XAT score are also accepted by NHCE.
While, for MCA, KMAT qualified candidates can also apply.
Ph.D. and M.Sc (Engg.) by Research is granted on the basis of performance in Research Aptitude Test (RAT) followed by an Interview.

NHCE Admission BE Admission 2023

New Horizon College of Engineering (NHCE) offers a four-year BE program in various specialization at UG level. The candidates who have passed 10+2 should have scored an aggregate of 45% in Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry/Biotechnology/Computer Science/Electronics/Biology. In the case of candidates belonging to Karnataka Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Backward Classes (Category I, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B), minimum marks for the purpose of eligibility will be 40% aggregate in the optional subjects in the qualifying examination.

NHCE offers M.Tech, MBA and MCA programs at PG level. M.Tech, MCA and MBA are offered for the duration of two years. A Bachelor’s degree in the relevant discipline is the minimum eligibility for admission.

Karnataka PGCET qualified candidates are eligible to apply for these courses. GATE and XAT/ MAT/ CAT/ CMAT passed candidates can also apply for M.Tech and MBA programs respectively.

NHCE offers admission to Ph.D. and M.Sc (Engg.) by Research twice in a year in the months of June and February. These programs are offered in both full-time and part-time modes. Selection is done on the basis of score in Research Aptitude Test (conducted as per the guidelines issued by VTU) followed by an Interview.

Which college is better, New Horizon College of Engineering or Dayananda Sagar Academy of Technology and Management (DSATM)?

I know a few people from both New Horizon College and DSATM. So I will try to give you an idea about them based on what I heard from my friends at the institutes.

New Horizon College of Engineering:

One of my friends was part of the ECE branch at New Horizon. She had a great time at the institute. The faculty, lab attendants are quite supportive. They have working faculties even on Sunday. So, if you missed any classes during the week you can catch up on that. You will have ample freedom at the lab. The labs are well-equipped with the latest instruments and computers.

Dayananda Sagar Academy of Technology and Management:

Comparably DSATM doesn’t offer such facilities. A friend of mine had to do her final projects using external resources, as the computers provided by the institute didn’t have the minimum requirements. Her project guides and her professors were not that supportive either. But in terms of placements, DSR does offer better facilities.

Here’s a brief comparison of both of these institutes.

One of my friends suggested that CSE placements in this college are much better than other branches. Other branches like ECE and EEE struggle a lot to get good companies which CSE students get at one go.

The campus drive is conducted one year after passing out from the college. Many cores, noncore and BPO companies come here for placements. Good packages are offered to the students. Some of the companies also have a bond of 2 to 3 years.

The placement report of the batch of 2020 is as follows:

Which one should I choose, Dayanand Sagar College of Engineering ISE or New Horizon College of engineering CSE?

According to the 2021 WBJEE cutoff, the required cutoff for CSE at Heritage Institute of Technology is 3434 (general). So, it will be difficult to get admission in CSE with your rank. As an alternative, you can go for IT at Heritage. It offers similar career prospects as the CSE branch.

With 4.5k rank, you can also try for KGEC EE/JGEC CSE/GCECT CSE/GCELT CSE/IEM IT/ GCETTS CSE.

At this rank in case, if you are getting a Govt. college don’t go for it as there is a very low chance of placements.
