Government College of Engineering & Technology (GCET) located in Jammu is a public college affiliated to the University of Jammu. It was set up under the norms laid by AICTE in 1994.
GCET Jammu is NBA accredited and offers only a B.E degree in 5 different specializations. Admissions to B.E are through JKCET followed by the State Counselling.
Students from outside Jammu and J&K can apply for admissions to this college. They must have passed 10+2 with 50% aggregate in the Science stream along with English as one of the compulsory subjects.
There is a 10% relaxation for the reserved category. If students are selected for admission through JKBOPEE they are exempted from paying the tuition fee for the first semester.
Applications for admissions are accepted offline which must be mailed to the Principal directly. Forms can be downloaded from the official website of the college.
Since admissions are offered on the basis of the rank in JKCET and students meeting the cut-off. The previous academic session saw a cut-off ranging from 655-975 for B.E admissions for the general category.
Out of 132 students 105 were offered on-campus placements. Maximum students who appeared for the interview and got through were from the Mechanical department.

When it comes to the cut off for getting admission in GCET Jammu, then it all depends on branches and your choices. For example - if you want to get enrolled in Civil branch in GCET then you need to score at least a rank under 200-210. On the other hand, there are branches in which you can take admission even when under 1000 rank.
