GITAM School of Technology was established in 1980. At present, GIT offers 13 UG and 18 PG programs in various Engineering disciplines along with Ph.D.

Admission is granted on the basis of a common online Entrance Test.
GITAM School of Technology offers and full and partial fee waiver to the top 100 students of GITAM Admission Test (GAT).
GAT (UGTP) (Online Admission Test) is conducted for admission to UG programs offered at Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam campuses.
10+2 examination with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry in the qualifying examination from a recognized Central or state board.
For M.Tech courses, a good score in GAT (PG) is required.

GITAM School of Technology offers admission to the B.Tech course in various specializations on the basis of score of GAT (UGTP) (Online Admission Test) score. Final admission is made on the basis of rank in GAT followed by course-specific counselling. The GAT registration fee for female candidates is INR 600/- only.

GAT (PGT) is an online admission test for the duration of 2 hours with 100 MCQs. GATE qualified candidates are exempted from GAT (PGT). However, they have to apply for admission in order to appear for the counselling round.

Review of GITAM by kartikeya

What I Liked

The environment of the campus is very clean
The university is very peaceful and there is beach near university
The KRC building in the university is a huge library for the whole campus. So many books to read, etc

What I didn’t like

Some potholes on roads which are recently appeard
The cost of living in the university is big
In some classes there are no air conditioners

Remarks:

I didn't apply to any other college other than this in the admission time because I acheived a scholarship of 15% of the fee by GAT exam The admission process is very self explanatory every student after 12th can apply to ug courses and some of the pg courses are also available in the university

A great college.

What I Liked

I liked the environment which gives good vibes .
I liked the classrooms which contains AC , wi-fi , and projectors.
As there were fests, cultural activites, competitions etc

What I didn’t like

Need to develop some of the classrooms as they were few problems.
Need to develop the washrooms of mens and womens.
Need to increase the faculty as there were sometimes less.

Remarks:

As I've fixed only to this college and I've not consulted other colleges. I like this college and the Opinion was very good on this college. I've not received any rejections from any college and nothing went wrong. In this college there were a few types, through eapcet, jee mains, and by writing admission exam than by the ranks you will get scholarships or you can join the college directly.

Gitam or Andhra University which one is better?

According to the reviews online, I found out that, AU by all means is better than GITAM University, here's an exposition, as to why-

Academics: AU offers quality education compared to GITAM. You will also have plenty of time to participate in extracurricular activities, which have their value too. Not only this, but AU also offers exchange programs.
Location: AU is in the centre of the city and on one side it has the RK beach. AU is 2kms away from the bus station and 3–4 kms from the railway station.
Faculty: Sometimes AU professors allow scholars to take a class, which is not great. But the main faculty is really highly experienced.
Campus: With a 350- 400 acres campus and buildings, gyms, stadiums, 2 grounds, and labs with equipment for research and practicals, AU can be said to have a nice campus.
Placements: As for placements, GITAM has an upper hand, with packages ranging from INR 3 LPA to INR 6 LPA. But AU will provide students with the proper exposure, enough for them to secure good job offers.

Andhra University also has colonial-style hostels, with the availability of food for INR 2200 per month. AU has cheaper fees anyway, in GITAM the fee is between INR 1 to 3 lakhs for different courses but in AU it is the 10k-30k only.
