Dr. Mahalingam College of Engineering & Technology (MCET) was established in 1998. It is an Autonomous institute which affiliated to Anna University. It offers B.E/B.Tech, ME and MCA courses in various specializations along with the Ph.D. programs.

Candidates who have passed class 12^th from Tamil Nadu state are eligible for TNEA.
Admission to B.Tech/B.E courses is offered by Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) is conducted by Anna University.
The application form can be filled online as well as in offline mode on payment of application fee through cash or DD.
Applicants belonging to Tamil Nadu only will be considered for admission. However, children of Central Government employees not domiciled in Tamil Nadu have to provide a valid certificate of their parents’ who have been serving continuously for more than 5-year at the time of submission of application.
To secure admission in M.E programs, students have to qualify TANCET followed by the central counselling.A 3-year graduation degree in Computer Applications is required for MCA program.

Dr. Mahalingam College of Engineering & Technology (MCET) offers B.E/B.Tech program in various specializations. In order to finalize the admission, TNEA is conducted by Anna University. Applicants belonging to Tamil Nadu only will be considered for admission. The candidates will get the admission on the basis of their marks in 10+2 followed by counselling.

Preference will be given to the candidates who have scored good marks in the HSC examination. Candidates will be called for counselling according to the order of their merit. Candidates have to pay INR 5000 (for General) and INR 1000 (for SC/ST) through cash or DD. Application forms for TNEA can be filled offline as well as online.

Note: The college gives admissions on the basis of TNEA counselling conducted by Anna University. Candidates of Tamil Nadu who’ve done HSC from other states are also eligible to apply provided they produce a nativity certificate at the time of counselling.

Admission to ME course at the Institute is provided on the basis of the performance of the candidates in TANCET conducted by Anna University.

TANCET is an offline examination. Counselling will be conducted in the last week of April or first week of May. The counselling fee is INR 5300 (INR 1150 for SC/ST).

For MCA admissions, the candidates should have passed a recognized Bachelor’s degree in any of the following patterns, viz. 10+2+3/4 years Pattern, 10+3 years’ diploma + 3 years Pattern or 10+2 with AMIE.

MCET invites applications during August and February for Ph.D. programs in several streams. Selection will be done on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination along with the valid GATE, NET or equivalent entrance examination score. The shortlisted candidates will be considered for written test or personal interview (as decided).

Candidates seeking admission to undergraduate engineering degree course have to apply for TNEA. The application form can be filled through the website of Anna University.

For B.Tech Program:

For Online Mode: The candidates have to pay INR 500 (general candidates) and INR (reserved candidates).
For Offline Mode: The candidates have to pay INR 700 (general category) and INR 450 (SC/ST and OBC).
After submission of the application form, the candidates will be called for the counselling round on the basis of their marks in graduation.

For M.Tech and MCA:

Application form for TANCET can be downloaded from the official website.
Candidates have to first get registered and then fill the form using Login ID and password obtained during the registration.
Application fee is INR 500 for general category and INR 250 for the other categories.
