It offers 4-year degree courses (B.E.) in 5 engineering disciplines viz. Civil Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.   • The intake for B.E. Lateral Entry courses (all available B.E. disciplines in DGCT) is 24 seats per branch.
  • Admission to B.E. will be through TNEA Counselling.
  • Management quota candidates do not require to register for TNEA/ TANCA counselling. Such candidates are admitted through marks obtained in the last qualifying exam on merit basis.
  • Candidates with a valid GATE score are given the first preference for M.E. admissions.
  • The vacant seats left after admitting GATE candidates are filled with TANCET.

Dhirajlal Gandhi College of Technology offers undergraduate level engineering degree (B.E.) courses in the disciplines of Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, and Computer Science & Engineering. The basic eligibility criteria for admission to the B.E. program is a pass in HSC/ 10+2 with 50% marks in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry taken together. The College offers postgraduate level degree programs in four engineering specializations, viz. Structural Engineering, Communication Systems, Computer Sc. & Engineering, and CAD/ CAM. The basic eligibility criteria for admission to the M.E. programs is a B.E./ B. Tech degree in the relevant or allied discipline with 50% marks. Candidates are selected on the basis of their GATE/ TANCET score through TANCA counselling.

Candidates seeking admission to DGCT’s M.E. programs may apply through the official website of Anna University or the dedicated TANCET website. The application form can be filled online and so is the case with the payment of application fee. GATE candidates are not required to take the TANCET exam, but must register for TANCA regardless.

Dhirajlal Gandhi College of Technology Application Process 2023

Dhirajlal Gandhi College of Technology fills its government quota seats through state-level counselling of Anna University, Chennai. Candidates applying for undergraduate level engineering courses are admitted through TNEA (Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission) counselling, whereas PG engineering are admitted through TANCA (Tamil Nadu Common Admission) counselling.

Seats are also reserved for Management quota admissions and are filled through the institute level admission process on merit basis. Candidates can reach the institute directly for admissions under Management quota.

The application and counselling process for Govt. quota seats for admission to B.E. and M.E. programs is as follows:

  • Candidates seeking admission to B.E./ M.E. courses may apply for TNEA/ TANCA counselling by visiting the Anna University website.
  • The aspiring candidate must fill the online registration form and pay the application fee online using credit/ debit card or net-banking.
  • The application form must be duly filled, carefully, with all requisite details.
  • It is hereby advised that candidates read the information booklet carefully prior to filling the application form.
  • For payment of application fee, candidates can also choose to pay using through demand draft drawn in favor of Anna University, Chennai.
  • The same must be attached with the hard copy of the complete application form and sent to the University without delay.
  • After submission, take a printout of the complete application form for further correspondence.
  • A self-attested photocopy of the complete application (printout) along with all necessary enclosures must be sent to the Director of Admissions, Anna University or to the Principal of the College.
  • The University published a merit list shortly after the last date of receiving applications from eligible candidates.
  • Those candidates whose names make it to the merit list are required to download the counselling call letter and register for counselling within the prescribed dates.

On the Day of Counselling

  • Candidates who have been shortlisted for counselling must visit the counselling center on the assigned date, accompanied with a DD of INR 5000 (against counselling fee) and original copies of all relevant documents.
  • They must report at any of the bank counters at the Anna University premises and produce the DD in order to obtain the counselling form.
  • Candidate with the highest rank gets the first opportunity to exercise his options, and so on.
  • At this phase, the candidate is required to make his choice of college and course based on which admission order is allotted.
  • In the next step, candidate must sign the admission order and hand over the DD to the counsellor.
  • He/ she must then report at the institute with the allotment letter in order to complete the admission process.
