DAVIET, the shortened name for DAV Institute of Engineering and Technology, Jalandhar, began functioning in 2001 as a private technical institute governed by the DAV College Trust and Management Society. Its academic charter centres on professional grounding: alongside technical skills, the institute works on ethical conduct, intellectual depth, and the analytical judgement that decision making demands. A long-term ambition drives this, namely recognition as a nationally significant hub for quality professional teaching, research, and innovation.

Recognition for the institute comes from the UGC under Section 2(F), 2017, while AICTE approves its technical programmes. NAAC has awarded the institute an A+ grade. The teaching campus covers 18 acres, and academic affiliation rests with IK Gujral Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar. Programme coverage at both bachelor's and master's level spans Engineering and Technology, Business Administration, Computer Applications, Hotel Management, and Commerce.
