Al-Ameer College of Engineering and Information Technology, Visakhapatnam was established in 2001 under Mohammed Vaziruddin Educational Society. It is affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Kakinada. It is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and recognised by Department of Technical Education (DTE), Government of Andhra Pradesh. It is the only muslim minority institution in the north coastal Andhra Pradesh.
- The vision of the college is to create a civilized society where everybody has equal opportunity to better his or her life, where every child has food, shelter, education and also healthcare, a society where duties come before rights where each generation makes sacrifices to make life better for the next generation
- The college is set amidst a valley at Gudilova, a place located twenty five kilometers away from the city at a sprawling 40 acre campus on the foreshore of Gambhiram gedda reservoir forms the finest environs conducive to learning.
