Acharya is known for its stunning infrastructure. If you want to look into the academic section, then the views will be completely different for each department.

Departments:

  • Information Science and the Computer Science department are some of the best wings in AIT.
  • CS and IS faculty are better as there is a distinct expose of knowledge if compared to the department of E&C.
  • Other departments like Mechanical, BT, E&E, Mechatronics are ordinary.
  • It doesn't matter which branch you will choose. You will only do great if you are truly interested in it.

Faculty:

  • Expert faculties and most importantly the HOD, who is one of the best personalities you will ever meet in your life.
  • The higher management is quite helpful as they will assist you in every problem.
  • In engineering, if you want to learn something, you need to learn it on your own. Faculties will only guide you on the right path.

Fees:

  • The college fee structure and hostel fees is quite high as compared to other private colleges.

Placement:

  • Most of the companies recruit students for IT sector from branches like CS and IS.
  • A very few companies come for core branches but most of the companies allow all the departments for the placement.

Overall, the Acharya Institute of Technology is a potential choice.

Acharya Institute of Technology is affiliated with VTU which holds a lot of value, unlike Bangalore University. Good or bad depends upon what course the student is choosing.

Study:

  • AIT has enough major courses to choose from as per your own interest.
  • The discipline is pretty strict when it comes to attendance and stuff but otherwise, the students can enjoy it a lot if they stay within their limits.
  • One of the good things is the college conducts lots of different workshops for the students so that the students can get to know the different technologies that are being used in the industry or are in demand.

Campus:

  • The campus itself is pretty big spread over 100 acres.
  • College also provides hostel facilities which are chargeable and free WiFi
  • It has a decent canteen with various eateries available around the college premises.
  • The only problem is the transposition. If you want to roam around, it is difficult as it is not that much connected to the main city.

Placement:

  • Many renowned companies come for placements, but most of them are for IT.
  • Core companies for EEE, Mech do also come but they are very few in numbers.

Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology is an autonomous college whereas Acharya Institute of Technology is VTU affiliated. Both of the colleges have excellent infrastructure, but NMIT is considerably far from the city centre as compared to Acharya.

Placement:

  • Students of NMIT get placed into some good companies with some hefty packages.
  • Average packages are around 6 to 10 lacs in NMIT which is good for a tier 2 college.

Faculty:

  • The faculty for EC and CS is good in both the colleges.
  • Most of them are PhD holders in their particular field and some are pursuing it.

Department:

  • Life in the EC department of NMIT is not much happening.
  • CS department in NMIT has the best scenario, a good package, and chilled out faculty.

The table shows a brief overview of the institutions:

NMIT is a good pick but placement wise AIT is better. Overall, the Acharya Institute of Technology is the potential choice.

Acharya Institute of Technology is a very good college for engineering courses and many students across the country apply for admission to this college every year. I can give you some insight about the institute as I have a few friends at the institute.

  • Academics: It is very good and the faculty are experienced and talented especially in the ISE and CSE branches. Here the students are also given some extra classes on placements assistance and personality development.
  • Extracurricular activities: The college fest is the best among the colleges of Bangalore. Here students also get the opportunity to take part in various competitions, from cricket to table tennis, and in national-level college events too.
  • Infrastructure: It offers modern facilities to the students. You can Google the institute to see pictures of the institute. You will find the fee structure of the college on the COMEDK website.
  • Placements: The placements are decent enough. But if you can appear for exams such as AMCAT and Elitmus then you expect good companies offering good packages. And getting a job depends on you mostly based on your skills and knowledge and how you can present yourself in front of your recruiters.

Hence, Acharya Institute of Technology is a very good college with good academics, experienced professors, and decent placements.

Before deciding, you should pay a visit to both the institutes. After analyzing what they have to offer, choose as per your convenience.

Here are some factors you should have knowledge about AIT (Acharya Institute of Technology). One of my colleagues is a Communications and English language Professor here, and can possibly elaborate on this subject better.

  • Since he interacts with the students and professors of the Aeronautical department, he mentions that they have unlimited energy for student facilitation, guidance, and mentoring.
  • They take part in a large number of events, whenever organized.
  • If you visit the campus, you will be thrilled to see their enthusiasm regarding their ongoing projects.
  • Acharya Institute of Technology claims to have strong tie-ups with American, European, and other foreign universities, making it rather simpler to pursue higher studies overseas.
  • A large number of students also visit my colleague for in-house TOEFL coaching, before eventually applying for the student visa to the United States.

In fewer words, it is a life-changing course, if pursued with proper guidance and efficiency. Hope this answers your query.

Someone I know attended the institute and her experience was not that good.

The majority of the degree holders from this institute and similar institutes are shifted to the position of clerks in the companies based on services; companies that are under the officials of the institute. This happens because there is no concept of placement in such institutes.

The Acharya Institute of Technology is a four-tier institute and as it is usual for four-tier institutes in India, this institute also holds pool campus placements.

Placement is only a possibility when an engineering company is in need of engineers who are skilled and look for such individuals in different colleges, often offering packages of 60 LPA to the successful candidates.

Most degree holders from four-tier colleges work as clerks in the services-based companies with a package of about 2-3 LPA.

One of my seniors graduated from the IS branch of Acharya Institutes. He has seen a considerable number of students quit because they had complaints regarding the non-payment of their salaries. They looked for better opportunities in other colleges. He did not find anything better about the department apart from the HOD and a few other lecturers.

If you are looking for employment in companies that are service-based, you will most likely get placements. If you are looking for help and motivation from your peers or faculty, you will probably be disappointed. My senior and a lot of his peers got little to no help with the same, including research activities. My senior suggests that you should choose ISE at Acharya only when you do not much have many choices and/or if you have a low rank.

One of my friends got into the Acharya Institute of Technology for the Information Science Engineering course through the management quota. Interestingly, I was also looking up some decent colleges for Engineering in Karnataka for my sister, so I might be able to help you with your question.

I would further be mentioning certain situations or circumstances that you might face ahead. These can be:

  • If, via KCET, you do manage to grab a college that does not match the rank that Acharya Institute of Technology belongs to, or is 2 or 3 ranks below of the institute, do not go for it as it would not be worth it.
  • This is because there would not be any difference in the institutes that are after the ones mentioned in the top -10 to 15 ones. If you have potential, your performance would establish that.
  • If you feel that ISE and CSE are genuinely your thing, go for it. If not, B.Sc. would be a better choice.
  • If the total sum of 10 lakh rupees does not seem a big deal to your family or you. You can go for it.

Under circumstances similar or closer to these, you can think about pursuing it or securing otherwise. The choice is entirely yours.

The CSE department of Acharya Institute of Technology is quite good, considering the overall educational facilities, hostels, and environment. A friend of mine attended the institute. Here is his review regarding the facilities provided by the institute.

  • Comparing with other departments, the CSE department is quite decent, with good laboratories, clean classrooms, and overall good infrastructure.
  • The environment inside the campus of Acharya Institute of Technology is quite good for students to study peacefully. Candidates having doubts about the internal environment can clarify the same from internal faculties.
  • There is an almost equal ratio of North Indians and South Indians inside the campus.
  • The hostels provided by Acharya Institute of Technology are good, compared to hostels of other institutes. There are double and triple sharing rooms, which cost around Rs. 1.1 and Rs. 1.47 lakhs per annum respectively. Inside the rooms, the institute provides tables and chairs to study. There are medical facilities available inside the campus.
  • For internet services, the institute provides LAN for laptops only inside the rooms. There is WIFI connectivity at the corridor, where most social networking and online shopping sites are blocked. But, these sites can be accessed through LAN after 5 PM.
  • Talking about the food in hostels, there is a 3-time meal system- breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Overall, the food is considered to be good, with both rice and chapatti in lunch and dinner. Sumber is a must.

Hope this gives you a brief insight to the institute.
