National Institute of Unani Medicine (NIUM) is an autonomous body under the Ministry of AYUSH, Govt of India, located at Bangalore, Karnataka. It was established in the year 2004. The institution is affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Science (RGUHS), Karnataka.
The college offers MS/MD under PG level programs in eight specializations. At the Doctorate level, National Institute of Unani Medicine Bangalore offers Ph.D. in Unani Medicine.
- For MD and MS, candidates are required to qualify the BUMS degree with a minimum of 55% marks from a recognized university.
- The selection of candidates is done on the basis of NIUM PGET entrance examination.
- For Ph.D. admission, candidates are required to pass postgraduate degree of MS/MD with 60% of aggregate in the concerned field of specialization.
- Admission to Ph.D. is done on basis of merit scored in the entrance examination conducted by RGHUS followed by counselling held by NIUM.
