Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Medical College is known to be one of the top medical colleges in the country and has been regarded as one of the best in the state of Karnataka. Located in Bengaluru, it was started in 1981 and has grown significantly over the years. At present, it offers various medical courses in different fields including undergraduate and postgraduate specializations.

  • Selection of candidates to the institute is done on the basis of merit. The performance in the entrance examination is the deciding factor for admission to undergraduate courses.
  • Application forms are available online on the official NEET website with separate forms for undergraduate and postgraduate courses
  • For undergraduate courses, candidates must have appeared for the entrance examination and have passed the 10+2 level.

Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Medical College UG Admissions 2023

Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Medical College offers MBBS course on the basis of their performance in the All-India qualifying examination i.e. NEET. The All India Rank and percentile obtained in the NEET must be submitted to the college, based on which admission will be granted.

NEET takes place in the month of May every year, usually on the 1st or 2nd Sunday. The test is conducted by CBSE, New Delhi, and is the national level standard test for admission to medical courses.

  • The test is scheduled to be three hours long.
  • The test consists of four sections, namely Physics, Chemistry, Zoology and Botany.
  • Four marks are awarded for every correct answer, and one mark is deducted for every incorrect answer.
  • The syllabus includes topics covered at the +2 level in the relevant subjects
Course Eligibility Selection Process
MBBS Candidates must be at least 17 years of age, and must have passed / appeared for the 10+2 level examination or its equivalent with the subjects of English, Physics, Chemistry & Biology and with 60% marks for this group from a recognized board in the country, i.e. CBSE / ISC / State Board or the equivalent.
Appearance in NEET is mandatory.

Candidates seeking admission to the undergraduate programs may do so through the official website within the stipulated time. Candidates must register and appear for NEET to be considered for admission to the college.

  • Candidate must have passed / appearing / appeared at the 10+2 level in the Science stream to apply.
  • Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English are required as subjects of study at the +2 level for MBBS courses.  
  • 5% relaxation in the minimum required percentage is given to candidates belonging to reserved category
  • Candidates must be at least 17 years of age to apply.
  • Separate selection may be done for NRI candidates through an independently conducted Common Entrance Test.
  • Selection is entrance based on the performance in the national level entrance examination viz. NEET.

Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Medical College offers MD and MS at the postgraduate level under several specializations. Candidates are selected on the basis of their performance in the All-India qualifying examination viz. NEET PG.

NEET PG is conducted by CBSE, New Delhi and is the national level standard test for admission to medical courses.

  • The test is scheduled to be three and a half hours duration.
  • The test consists of 300 questions that cover all relevant areas studied at the undergraduate level.
  • There is no negative marking.

  • Click on the ‘Apply Online’ link and fill in all required details including the exam center choices.
